I just purchased a used Edge Evolution for my 98 Expy. Wohoo paid $275 and it's only 6 mo's old. Will I need to call Edge and get a new code for my application? I think it was on a 2001 F150 5.4.
Thanks
I'm finally ready to take the plunge. The best price I can find for the 85150 is $439. Does anyone have a source for a better price? Heck I'd even take a used one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well I'm in my 60's so it's OK once and a while to admit I made a mistake since it was soooooooooooo easy to fix. But mainly for the edification of others. Besides I learned enough from others on this forum to go ahead and change the plugs and cop's myself and for that I thank everyone!!
I changed plugs and cop's earlier this week on the Expy. It was running great until I kind of got on it yesterday. Had a severe miss and set the code for #8 cop. I assumed I had a bad new one. Went to change it this morning and to my surprise the connector was halfway off. I obviously didn't get...

Brian if memory serves me right you have to pull the console and turn it over. The controller is on the bottom side. You have to remove the electronic controller to open the damper to be able to permanently sffix it open.
Ken

Pull the rubber insert in the front of the console.
Remove the screw
Remove the single screw in the top front of the console where the cd changer is
Remove the top cover to the front of the console.
Remove the 2 floor mount...
It's pretty easy. you've got to pull the console first. To do that you need to pull the console inserts both in the cd holder and the cup holder. You can then undo the bolts holding it in. Disconnect the electrical connections and pull the console out. Turn it over and you can get to the damper...
