I always order the HD tow package on any vehicle that offers it (even if I don't plan on towing often). You usually get better cooling and even a separate transmission cooler. I figure it should help longevity even if you don't tow much.
That said it is like $$800 bucks on the Expedition and...
PLEASE let us know if you do it.
I definitely wants one when my 2023 SPP is delivered.
Good luck with your delivery date! When did you order?
I ordered at the end of October so I have no build date yet.
Possibly the high output EcoBoost in the SPP needs the auto start stop to make some minimum emission standard?
OR, possible, it's more random nonsense like the green interior you mentioned.
UPDATE: My dealer contacted the factory and he said the auto start stop can not be removed on a 2023 with the stealth performance package.
Not a biggie. I'll buy an in-harness eliminator when it's available.
Maybe I'll be the one going to West Virginia. It is awfully beautiful down there.
I didn't know I could.
I thought this was only an option on the 2022 due to parts shortages. Otherwise it is an emission control and wasn't removable.
My build is not scheduled yet so maybe I can update my order. I'll contact the dealer.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I messaged them to ask about fitting my 2023 when it arrives. Here is the answer.
SHORT VERSION - If someone is willing to visit them in West Virginia with a 2023 they will customize version of the AutoStop eliminator for the 2023 and you will get $300 AND a free install of the...
Well, at least they updated to paint/corrosion warranty to not require perforation.
Last time I let it go. If my new expy has problems and they refuse to stand by it I will be the dealer's and ford's worst legal nightmare.
For > $86,000 I think expecting the paint to stick is pretty reasonable.
Exactly what year/model/etc expy did you install on?
dhenderz' post here seems to be saying I am out of luck on a 2023 SPP

Thanks for this report. I would have ordered one.
Now I hoping somebody finds a work around. Or maybe a vendor could make a cool cover for us SPP snowflakes :)
My 2010 expedition started losing paint off of aluminum parts in ~3-4 years. The paint warranty only covers perforation and my dealer told me to pound sand.
Now I have ordered a new 2023 SPP, so I have a question and an observation.
Has Ford improved their Aluminum painting process?
I...
Do you have a link (or recommendation) on where to buy one for a 2023 SPP?
Also, what is the consensus on if dealers use this to void the warranty?
(I don't have my 2023 yet, still driving my 2010, so catach cans are new to me even though i've been on this forum for years)
