@LokiWolf People have had mixed results with the "wait 8 hours and the BMS resets itself" thing. For how simple the reset procedure, and how quick it is to perform (10 seconds), it's probably just better to recommend people do it and actively make sure the BMS has been reset. It's also stated...
Even then (on the fluids) - with Ford hemorrhaging money on recalls and warranty claims, they'll look for even the slightest excuse to deny a claim. And if you contest it, you might end up winning, but you've been without a vehicle for months in the meantime. The guy in the service shop has...
Considering the issues with the 10R80 transmission, I would not be touching it myself with a 10ft pole. The last thing I want is Ford to deny a warranty claim because of a dispute on maintenance, and end up $5000 out of pocket, because I wanted to save $400.
Very likely. When you take your old battery out, you'll see a Date Mfg sticker on the side. I'll bet yours says 2018 or 2019. 6+ years is far longer than batteries last in these trucks.
Get a new H7 AGM. Make sure it's AGM, and not a FLA (flooded lead acid). There was a long discussion...
All this messing around, and it's just because your battery is toast. Resting 11.4v is a dead battery. It's very likely the original factory battery from 2019. NAPA might say it's fine, and in an older predominately analog vehicle, that may be the case. But these trucks are laptops on...
I had the same thing happen. Exacerbated by the frigid arctic temps we have here.
I did exactly as this video explained. Included the exact products he used. And my running boards have worked flawlessly for 2 years.
Glad that worked for you!
Just remember that too high a concentration of IPA can be bad for the paintwork. Pure IPA needs to be diluted to about 10-20% to be safe for paintwork.
Now you’ve got it freeze-proofed, I would buy a few gallons of the good quality windshield fluid - the lowest...
Pinion seal leak is fairly common. Had mine replaced under warranty last year.
If I remember correctly - the parts came up to about $5. And the labour was hundreds of dollars.
Regularly drive in in -30f and below here, and never had the nozzles freeze up. I suspect you're not using the appropriate washer fluid. The stuff we use up here is rated down to -50f.
Edit: If this is the case, you could very likely have ruptured a line, or killed the washer pump motor...
This was being discussed in another thread about 6 months ago. Turned out to be water ingress somewhere that corroded a connector, or something like that. Dealer replaced under warranty. Search function should find it.
1) Check if there's an update available for your Sync system
2) Check if there are any updates for your iphone
3) Make absolutely sure you don't have any other bluetooth devices nearby that might be stealing your iPhones attention away from the Sync system (such as bluetooh headphones...
But, that’s not an AGM battery. It’s just a common flooded lead acid battery…

Exide are made by Continental Batteries. Here’s their H7 AGM battery. Notice the handles...
Yeah - I've been wrestling with the same dilemma myself. But the colour selection is incredible. This is the powder supplier they use: https://www.prismaticpowders.com/shop/powder-coating-colors
When you click into a swatch they have examples of rims (and other things) painted in that colour...
Not sure where this double-handle-signfies-a-single-brand thing started, but a lot of H7 AGM from different brands look exactly like that.
My Energizer looks like that. The factory Motocraft from Ford looked exactly like that. It's not a one brand design - I think it's more like the USB-C...
There really isn't a fix for this once it starts. This happened to some aftermarket rims on a different vehicle of mine. Expensive ones too.
I found a local powdercoat shop who said for $115 (Canadian) per rim they'll strip them, repair any curb rash, and powdercoat them to any one of a...
I suspect it's more than that. I've read here about people replacing their battery and electrical problems reappearing a short while later.
I've just assumed that the BCM tracks the aged performance characteristics of the battery. How much the max charge capacity has reduced by, how rapidly...
I honestly couldn't comment on how Interstate stacks up against the competition. Others here will chime in on that.
As soon as I saw Canada Costco had a 10 year warranty on the Energizer batteries I quit comparing.
Here's the US Costco H7 AGM Interstate Battery for the Expedition (I put in...
If you're a Costco member get their H7 AGM Energizer battery.
It comes with a 10 year Costco warranty. First 5 years is full refund, second 5 years is a pro-rated refund.
Everyone else will argue about how Duralast is this, but Optima is that. But taking your battery back for a full refund 5...
