I bought an enclosure for a reasonable amount from an auto recycler off ebay. The box looks to be of sufficient volume and quite sturdy. The key is finding a sub to work in the hole & depth dimensions as it a little bit proprietary (at least the cutout) - still a general 10".
Instead of...
It has a timeout. I can't remember what it is but I believe it is around 30 minutes in general. I've seen various threads on what it is (30, 60, 75...). So either the Dometic will sense a drop below 12v and turn off, or it'll be dependent on the timeout of the power point.
The power point...
Fit and finish on the completed unit is fantastic. Really does look OEM as it should. The unit powers on via the button on the front driver's side of the unit. It will run as long as the last status was on; as long as there's 12+ volts measured; and obviously as long as the accessory circuit...
I recently caught wind and posted in another thread that Dometic had their F-150 console refrigerator on sale. As in at $100 at the time of writing this is practically giving it away. It's a respectable brand and are also from what I understand sourced by OEMs to provide solutions. I had...
To overstate the obvious, higher vehicle, higher center of gravity.
That being said... If you're feeling as if your steering itself is more "twitchy" and harder to control as in keeping in a straight line, the next step would be to upgrade the upper control arms (UCA's). Besides articulation...
Figured I'd resurrect instead of making a new post, but Dometic has on their site the model we need discounted 75% off for $100 at the moment. I ordered mine last night figuring I couldn't pass it up for that. I've always been envious of the Land Cruisers that had them in their consoles...
Glad to hear everyone is OK. Hopefully only soreness is the worst of it.
Everything depends on what is found.
Age and mileage will be the first determination due to establish a value baseline. The doors obviously are to be replaced. Then it depends on how much the door frame opening is...
Looking good and great job keeping that thing going! Most people wouldn't put that effort into a car with that age/mileage.
Chassis look pretty clean. Did you do a POR15 or similar application? Even your spindle/steering knuckle looks detailed.
The second problem with the stowage compartment now is that the USB chargers in there are also in the same boat as not being able to charge a new big phone. On the back side of the plug is an outdated USB MINI A plug that splits the power between the two TYPE A's in there (at least in mine...
I didn't do any pics of the install. Kind of tore into it as soon as the FedEx guy dropped off the box. But the FSM instructions are good as well (pages 4470-4473) if you have it downloaded. Same procedure you see on any any chat group when you see people with broken cup holders, and papers...
Expedition and F150 wheels are the same in the sense that they have the same bolt pattern and center bore diameter. Offsets are also comparable. The issue with most F-150 wheels is that the hub of the wheel isn’t as deep as an expedition so either the caps won’t fit on or people trim the axle...
XLT's also came with 18" wheels, and you won't have to modify anything. Like GixxerJasen said, you can probably find this on Marketplace for cheap vs buying new wheels that are only for purpose, not looks.
