    4 months of ownership...'17 Expy

Good to hear you still like the '17. I have my first K on the clock with a bit over 1 month. Really a luxurious improvement over my '12 FX4. Of all the years driving F-150s with a solid rear axel it is a pleasure to replace it with the Expedition with independent suspension. Very noticeable...

Better bulbs for Anzo Projectors - 35w HIDs? Or LED?

Please remember Adieu, these LEDs are intended only for the back-up lights which only turn on when in reverse. There should not be anyone there to blind, unless they are about to get run over or slammed into:33:... These lights do not replace the red tail light, just for backing up.

    Rear cargo area latch points-Mod

Yeah, it started out simple and got more involved from there. Had I known what I know now, it would have turned out different, just wanted to show what can be done. Bottom line, I have some solid latch points now where there were none. May not look pretty, and not the right material, but it...

Better bulbs for Anzo Projectors - 35w HIDs? Or LED?

ExpeditionAndy, did you receive ignitors with you HID package? Reading about the HID systems, it states that ignitors are needed for "starting" or initiating the xenon bulbs. There was no mention of them in the order I have tried to contact XenonHIDs.com but their communication and support is...

Better bulbs for Anzo Projectors - 35w HIDs? Or LED?

If you look at the LED bulb purchased, they have diodes on the sides mostly for side lighting, with only one diode for the projector. But you have already made up your mind Adieu and there is probably no way of changing it. Just don't buy a Toyota!!!

Better bulbs for Anzo Projectors - 35w HIDs? Or LED?

Hey ExpeditionAndy, I did purchase these and have been researching them to understand (new to HID here...). Most units come with ignitors to "start" them up. The conversion kit I ordered with the Galaxy ballast does not come with ignitors. Is this contained within the ballast or am I missing...

Better bulbs for Anzo Projectors - 35w HIDs? Or LED?

When I get them installed (once they clear stinkin' customs...) I will let you know how they work. In the meantime, lets withhold all prejudice or comment.:birgits_tiredcoffee

How About a 2015 to present thread

I would like to revive this thread to the OP. Since the '15-'17s have the 3.5 TT, they are a different beast from the earlier 3rd gens. It would be nice to have a section on this forum devoted to this production run. I know the '18s are entirely different and already have a separate section.

    2nd oil change this morning

I was told by the dealership when I bought my 2017 that first oil change should be @ 5000, then every 10,000 after that using a quality synthetic oil. The 3.5 TT is a great, well engineered engine and modern synthetic oils should stand up with this schedule. What are everyone's thoughts on that????

I don't have Amazon Prime. Maybe I should? Sure would pay for itself in waiting time! Go figure...:emotions133:

    Rear cargo area latch points-Mod

Hi all. I have read many posts on several forums discussing the lack of hard latch/tie down points in the '15-'17 Expeditions. I need something to tie down cargo since I do off-roading on bumpy "roads". Here is a mod I did that seems to work well. This was a learning process that took too much...

Better bulbs for Anzo Projectors - 35w HIDs? Or LED?

These LED back-up lights are supposed to be much brighter and more focused than the OEMs. We will see. If they ever clear customs...

    Honking Frustration-Help

No, just when I leave the engine running and close the door. If I half latch the door, the double beep will not sound. this is my best solution. I will learn to live with it. Could be worse!

Better bulbs for Anzo Projectors - 35w HIDs? Or LED?

This is what I got from Amazon. They are coming from China and are taking for freakin' ever to be delivered. There are many choices for the replacement bulbs. These have projector ends and are ideal for back-up lighting...

    Vibration during constant speed

Welcome to the forum (I'm a newbie myself here...). Sounds electrical? maybe the rain is causing the anti-lock on your wheels to activate? Are you sure the sound vibration is from your wheels? Maybe mud packed unequally on the inside of the wheels? This would not be intermittent, but is a...

    Honking Frustration-Help

Not the point of the OP. Shutting off the vehicle just for 9 seconds to check something, get the mail or whatever is not the answer. Not enough time to justify cycling the engine off then on again.

Mud flaps for power running board

You can get the straight mud guards at any auto parts store. I bought mine at Reilly's Auto Parts. Don't know if you have then where you live, but AutoZone has them as well. Good luck and dress up your Expedition with style!!

Mud flaps for power running board

Thanks EAndy. Those are the Ruby Mountains with beautiful glacial lakes in the summer. The Rubies border the south of Spring Creek. I love Nevada. In Spanish, Nevada means "snow-capped peaks". As an aside, I installed a bug/rock guard on the front. Multipurpose-again it looks nice and it does...

Mud flaps for power running board

No! Those will work in the rear but not the front. You will need the straight ones for the front. Using a spacer for the front will look out of place and will definitely work against installation.

Here is a better photo showing the looks of the vehicle with the mud guards. Makes it look more "rugged".

Mud flaps for power running board

Front flap is in shade. I want to use this photo in my signature but cant find a way to do it as a cut/paste. Is there a secret?

Mud flaps for power running board

First photo shows front mud guard. It is just a flat guard that you can purchase anywhere. It will not intrude with the deployable running board. The second photo shows the rear molded variety that can also be purchased anywhere. These work well and look good on the vehicle.
