I had mine throw a fit like that once when I started it up at the grocery store. Shut it off and started it up again and all the various errors were gone. Ford app captured all the errors as well.
guess they all have one “freak out” session?
Just reading that Emotion, who made the nGauge HPTuner, is out of business. Glad I got the SCT instead! Even if it is a “lesser” tuner, it did everything I needed and the manufacturer is still in business at least!
Anyone with the HPTuner know what ongoing support is going to look like, if any?
I have the auto start/stop disabled so hopefully I’ll never have the issues associated with the battery not being charged enough. Interested to see how long my battery lasts. My previous DD was a 2011 Grand Cherokee Summit that I bought new. My parents have it now and the battery was replaced...
We just bought a pair of iPads for the kids. I turn the hot spot feature on my iPhone, wife’s iPhone, or my iPad but have considered paying for the vehicle wifi. We don’t let the kids watch much though, unless it’s a trip over 2-3 hours. We went from both daily drivers having RSE to neither...
Cam phasers are across every 3.5 Ecoboost. Expedition, Navigator, F150, Raptor...
They are covered under warranty, but supposedly also it doesn’t hurt anything. There are plenty of videos out there that detail the issue. I also posted a link around here somewhere.
In terms of known issues, the cam phasers for 4/2019 and earlier builds seems common, as do drivers side turbo rattle for all. Only issues I have had with mine was hitting a deer, had the media bin replaced because the door wouldn’t stay open, and my driver side retractible step was squeaking...
I always chuckle a little when people get concerned about gas mileage when driving a hulking SUV like these. If MPGs were that much of a concern a big SUV isn’t going to fit the bill there...
Anyway, if you want 4L and are worried about HD tow, I wouldn’t be. I have it on my 19 Max Platinum...
Think I’m going valvomax or stahlbus. The stainless of the valvomax and a USA company that is veteran owned are pluses. Not sure I like or dislike the fact you need to thread the release on whereas the stahlbus is quicker 1/4 turn...
19 Max Platinum HD tow running 87 daily street/tow tune from 5 Star, averaging 17 MPG. I mostly do 45-55 driving in a mix of suburban and rural driving. I believe I was at 17.5 prior to the tune but my foot has been in it a bit more, the tune makes it a much more fun vehicle to drive.
Had an appointment on Wednesday. Had to order a part. Today I went back for the repair. Took them an hour or so. Replaced JL1Z 7813594 BA. It’s the whole media bin itself. Seems to have solved the problem! My wireless charging pad seems to work better now too; my iPhone 12 Pro would often...
“Peace of mind” is the general one people state I think. Clean oil means less wear and tear is the thinking.
I’ve been using Blackstone to do oil analysis as mine gets broken in. I changed the factory fill at 5K and was glad I did. Viscosity was a tad low, and had plenty of initial wear in...
I live in W. Michigan, we generally get a good amount of snow if for no other reason due to lake effect. I’ve thought of my Expedition as a tank. It plows through everything I’ve seen so far with it much more sure footed than any other AWD/4A vehicle I’ve had. This includes a 2004 Grand...
I live in West Michigan, we generally get a good amount of snow...and the slush mentioned. I honestly haven’t noticed an issue with the panel catching slush. I have the weather tech mud flaps though, maybe that helps?
That doesn’t mean I’m not interested in the raptor skid...
Mine was squealing on the drivers side. Nothing I did resolves it for long. I tried every lubricant I could find. Even removed the motor and greased the shaft. Dealer replaced it under warranty and it’s been fine since.
So even when new I noticed the media bin drawer (the sliding door over the wireless charging station) in my 19 Platinum doesn’t like to stay open. It will lightly catch but it might be a second, several seconds, or when I hit a bump that causes the sliding door to close. Point being it won’t...
My 2011 Grand Cherokee went nearly 10 years on the original battery! Just replaced it this Fall. It’s was AGM and is in a compartment under the passenger seat. It was also garaged its entire life. Wonder if those factors helped?
it only got replaced because the compressor for the suspension...
I had some jerk back into mine at 1K miles and put some scratches in my hitch cover. Found they came unpainted or I would have replaced it.
My fix was to hit a deer and do $15K of damage. The shop painted the hitch cover as a freebie since they were already doing so much other stuff.
