    JLT Passenger Side Oil Separator

No critter that I know of. Just the dry NM heat eats everything. I barely noticed the dry rot when I started this project.

    JLT Passenger Side Oil Separator

Vinny from JLT Performance immediately responded to my issues and sent longer hoses and the F150 Battery Box Mount for the JLT Catch Can. The battery box mount worked like a charm, a perfect fit. There is 8” of clearance from the top of the battery box to the top of the hood. Install was...

    Transmission Temps Seem High

I’ve always thought these trannies ran hot. Southern NM, summer temps are 99-105 degrees, transmission routinely in the 208-215 degree range. No towing. Service rep said that was normal. My 99 Silverado runs about 190 degrees but it’s also not a ten speed transmission.

    JLT Passenger Side Oil Separator

That grounding bolt just doesn’t allow room to empty the can and I don’t want to disassemble the mount to empty it. I contacted JLT and requested the battery mount as they sent me the wrong colored cab anyways. If they don’t I’ll make my own.

    JLT Passenger Side Oil Separator

Yeah, I’m beginning to think they sent me the wrong unit. I have already emailed with photos, I’ll call on Monday to see what they say.

    JLT Passenger Side Oil Separator

The set up you showed me doesn’t work due to a large ground bolt in the way on the left of the mounting point recommended by JLT. (See yellow arrow) So I mocked up mounting the can off of the battery box. I’ll have to find or acquire some strip aluminum to come up from the battery box to JLT...

    JLT Passenger Side Oil Separator

Thanks. I’ll see if I can pull that off. I was concerned about those stiff (super stiff) hoses pushing on the harness connections or rubbing but your solution looks doable. I’ll report tomorrow.

    JLT Passenger Side Oil Separator

Hi all, Not looking to reopen the catch can debate but am wondering if anyone installed a JLT Passenger Side catch can and if so, were you able to put the engine cover back on? I ordered the correct can for 2015-2019 Expedition 3.5L EB in Clear Anodized color but received a black anodized can...

    Stuck sun roof

Close, leave it alone and go to the dealer in a few weeks when Covid lockdowns are lifted. Better to be patient than do unnecessary or have get locked in the open position.

    Catch cans anyone?

That video in NO WAY makes the case AGAINST catch cans. The guy rambles and bloviates and never gives a clear answer. So I went to the comments, and almost all of the comments support installing a catch can. It is a preventative measure to reduce blow by. $150 for a JLT catch can is cheaper...

    $1100 tail light

Indeed. Do a paintless dent repair or if you can live with the dent leave it and pocket the extra dough to cover your new higher premiums.

    4th Gen Expy FORScan Modifications

That makes sense. Didn’t think about global windows working due to auto up/down buttons on the inside. I will live with what I got and be happy. Thanks for the response.

    4th Gen Expy FORScan Modifications

I used the above setting to finally get the global windows up/down working...but for the front windows only. I went thru and enabled every global window up/down I could find but had to go to the as built to get it to work as you described above. I would really like all 4 windows to work, is...

    Foot activated liftgate

My 2018 XLT has it. I’m not a huge fan of it, but my rig has it. I think it’s standard on all powered liftgates.

    Jacking points on 2019 Expy

It’s still a body on frame, jack up on frame rails. The owners manual cover this in the changing tire section.

    Ccd suspension

I’m pretty happy with my cheap 2018 XLT. Good ride on 20” OEM wheels, no obtrusive tech to keep to interfering with the driver... less to go wrong.

    Trash...

From everyone that has stepped in gum we thank you for throwing it out your window. Gum is absolutely litter and tends to not biodegrade very quickly.

    Headlight stays on

You can disable daytime running lights in settings. I think Canada has them set to be permanently on.

    Brake and gas pedal

Other than jerryrigging a wider foot pad onto the brake pedal I don’t know of any vehicle that allows for user adjustment of the lateral distance between pedals. Just the height adjustment option. Maybe a heel rest to allow her foot to rotate easier between the pedals. She must have some small...

Make your Expedition look like a Platinum?

Why? I embraced buying my XLT for several thousands of dollars less to avoid expensive to replace tech. It’s the CCD, the lane assist, etc that will crap out and cost a small fortune to fix, replace, or just upkeep.

Leather problems on second row bench

The middle second row seat leather retainer has popped out of place near the adjustment latch and hangs freely. Next warranty visit I’ll have the dealership address. I can temporarily pop the retaining piece back in but it doesn’t stay.

When is it time for an oil change?

Remember oil and filters are cheap, engines and turbos and transmissions are expensive. Fresh fluids aren’t a guarantee of zero failures but it certainly can’t hurt.

    2018 Expedition 10 Speed Transmission

There’s this dipstick that can be added for checking tranny fluid levels but it doesn’t look robust enough to quickly fill the transmission with fluid. So. I one on this forum has had their transmission serviced yet by a mechanic or DIY?

    2018 Expedition 10 Speed Transmission

Has anyone had their transmission serviced yet on their 2018 or newer Expedition? How did it go? Has anyone found an aftermarket dipstick that can allow the owner to check the fluid level and refill? On my 99 Silverado I will drain the transmission by unhooking the tranny cooler line and...
