Hi all,
Not looking to reopen the catch can debate but am wondering if anyone installed a JLT Passenger Side catch can and if so, were you able to put the engine cover back on?
I ordered the correct can for 2015-2019 Expedition 3.5L EB in Clear Anodized color but received a black anodized can and want to be sure I received at least the correct can but wrong color. I can live with black so it’s no big deal but I was under the impression that the current generation JLT can would still allow for use of the engine cover.
The only way I can route the hoses and mount the can on the firewall exposed bolt, per the instructions, is to leave the engine cover off. Does anyone leave their engine cover off? Is there benefits to this or cons? I appreciate anyone sharing their experience.

As you can see in the photos, the hoses are routed on top of the engine and are very thick and not very malleable. I tried for about 90 minutes to figure something out including looking for a new mounting spot for the can, but I don’t have any metal straps laying around. The other locations were iffy anyways.
