Been a while, and I've put up with it, but with the warmer weather coming in, want to isolate which sensor is giving false info of "door open" light on the dash cluster.
Where are these located, and how hard is it to pinpoint the faulty one ? Any ideas/suggestions ?
Hey guys.
Need some help.
Recently started having idling problems with my 4.6L XLT.
Used to surge RPM at idle between 600 and 1200. So thinking it was a bad IAC valve, I replaced with a new one. Now , no more surging, but the RPM at idle is around 300, almost sounds like it's stalled, but...
So after about 5 hrs of dinking around with the front axle, finally yanked the oil pan off the XLT 4WD.
This is what I found. Another case of busted chain tensioners ? Also, check out the crud blocking off the pickup tube.
The question is , where are the other pieces ? I'm pretty sure...
I know I probably have to drop the front differential, axle or both OR lift up the motor to get the oil pan off on my 4WD. Anyone have any luck with one or the other ? Any picture assisted guides out there which bolts to remove to get the oil pan off ?
Great forum, glad I've found it.
