I know I probably have to drop the front differential, axle or both OR lift up the motor to get the oil pan off on my 4WD. Anyone have any luck with one or the other ? Any picture assisted guides out there which bolts to remove to get the oil pan off ?

Great forum, glad I've found it.

Beautiful job dude !!! Just what I needed. I was stuck with the oil pan dangling in mid-air because it couldn't clear that axle housing. Now this makes perfect sense !!!

Thanks again, so much !!!! Kudos. :leghump:

Took off the oil pan today. It was a B**** to get the axle down but after taking the oil pan off, found pickup screen 80% clogged with tiny bits of plastic. The other plastic pieces we in the bottom of the pan, I assume they're the plastic guides from the chain tensioners.

Looks like the timing chain cover is coming off in the near future.
