Front Lic Plate Holder

I have an 2004 Eddie Bauer and want to take off the front Lic Plate holder. It looks like Ford added two screw holders right in the center of the lower bummper. If the plate is removed does it leave two black holes in the bummber? Or are the at least color coded to the bumber?
