I get the leakfixed... for now anyhow and guess what... It blew a spark plug on the right side of the engine. Seems this is also a problem Ford knowsabout and is keeping it a secret... Just my luck. It's not nice to keep secrets.
Come on now boys. Anyone heard of a 5.4 blowing a plug? Seems it is more common than not. Ford has a flaw in there design of the 5.4 I hear. If you haven't heard about it.... guess what, you will. Everyone check your plugs for the fit. Only 6 thread holding them in....
It popped and then sounded like gravl was tinkling under hood for jsut a second and thensounded like a header broke loose. When I pulled over an opened the hood I knew it wasnt a header it was high on the engine way in the back. I then thought maybe a ERG valve. It had very little power but I...
Has anyone ever heard of the 5.4L blowing a spark plug out and striping the threads so bad it can't be re tapped? Needing a new /or re-manuf engine????? I heard it is a common problem with the 5.4 after 120000 miles ?????
I was just kidding you. Gotta do what you gotta do. I get frustrated everytime the leak thing happens but the rest of the time I have to sometimes slap the smile off my face.
I also believe it only happens if the vehicle is sitting still, somehow the water is running into the inside and down the dash. If snow lays on the windshield and then melts this is also a problem. Having the windshield replace/resealed doesn't solve the problem very long. I think it is still...
The mildew smell is coming from under the dash..I guess I could try to fabreze some how under the dash. The carpert never did get wet, that would have been too easy.. You are right we should not be worrying about Thsi stuff. But I guess a vehicle that smells like a basement does cost as much...
I think your are right. But Ford does not even think it is their problem. Ford dealers just looked at me like... are you wanting us to repair it at your cost or not. I would like to know why the windshield keeps coming unsealed..??? I would think that if your air bag deployed that it would...
It seems that the electrical problems are in the Expeditions I ahve a Ford truck and this has never happened. I read an article from Ford when the garage was reseaching my problem..it said that Lincoln Navigators are also having the same problem. There was a man who worked in my complex that...
thats not a good sign. After I had mine resealed a year later it leaked again also. Not sure where it was coming from. I bought a tube of aquarium glue and sealed under the rubber all the way down the drivers side on the windsheild. That seems to be working until I can figure what to do...
Not sure on that one. Mine was GEM module that got wet from a leaky windshield. Until it dried out the powerwindows and radio would only work in park or neutral. On the dash my 4x4 and "add wiper fluid" would flash in drive, & running board lights would stay on with no key in ignition. My...
let me know how much (if you don't mind). When I took mine to the garage and they replace the GEM module it cost over 550.00. I think if I would have let it dry out I could have save the 550.00 and just got away with resealing the windshield.
mine did the same exact thing. Reseal the windshield and it will take care of the problem. It took me forever to get the problem solved.. But it is caused fromt the windshield leaking and dripping down on the GEM module
