    expedition model history

The gen 1 Expedition was the same until 2003 when it was replaced with the current model. Possibly the seating configuration was different on the '01 you drove, or even just the color made it "look" more roomy. Other than the the '99 and '01 would be identical.

    Rear swaybar on '03 EXPY

It's pretty hard to find any performance mods for these things. I did find that eibach makes some springs that lower it just over an inch, which helps the handling. Other than that, I am not aware of anything out there to replace your rear bar.

It is the normal default for those positions.

    Higher octane fuel

Higher octane fuels don't cause too many problems so much as they are just not neccessary for your truck. The PCM is calibrated for regular fuel. That said, while modern PCM's can adjust pretty well, using lower octane in a vehicle that requires hi octane fuel can cause problems -...

    shitty gas milage

One thing for sure on my '03 is that it is nearly the same all of the time! Fairly heavy foot, 13-14 around town and 16-17 on the road. I see the new '07's with their new 6 speed O/D tranny can still only muster an EPA rating of 14 and 19! One thing that I saw on the horizon is a possible...

    2 questions please help

Your air ride has a leak(s). A dealer, or reputable suspension shop will need to look at it to find it/them. Be prepared. It is often very costly, but not doing soon is more costly as it can burn up the controller and/or the air pump from overuse. On the idle issue, that's a tough call...

    06 XLT Towing

Using the cruise is just fine. I would keep you O/D turned off unless you are cruising on a flat highway at 65 mph, or more. O/D causes the fluid to heat up more and the constant downshifting for grades just adds wear. Sure, it will hurt the gas mileage, but gas is still (barely:)) cheaper...

Alignment for an '03 and above EXPY

I hope they checked everything, because the '03's and up actually get a four wheel alignment. The front and rear have toe adjustment. The front also has camber and caster. Just FYI.

    drivetrain noise

Do you have a floor jack? Other common stuff is lower ball joints, but you have to lift the front end to check them. I'd get a reputable shop to check it for you. It's worth a few bucks to not go crazy over figuring it out yourself.

    the Ex needs more power!

I recommend a cold air intake: AEM CAI and exhaust: Gibson exhaust system Performance will be noticeably improved! :D Just make sure to disconnect your battery during the CAI install so that the PCM (computer) will reset it's base line and learn the new and improved air flow more quickly.

HELP!!! Expy having hard time to start

It sounds like you are either having a couple of separate problems, or one big one. Looking at your 1st post I assume a possible alternator/undercharging issue. That's easy enough to check at any ford dealer, or parts store. It could be your IAC valve acting up, but that only affects cold...

    interior questions.

The shape of the back floor itself is not much different with the 3rd row seat option. You do sit like a big kid on a little stool in that generation Expedition. You'll have to upgrade to an '03, or higher to get the mac-daddy 3rd row seat. :D

    Sparkplugs for 5.4L?

Use the OE plugs and make sure you replacethe coil boots, too, while you are in there. If you are doing this yourself, use alot of care and patience on the rear ones, especially on the right side. It's a bear!!! You'll want to blow away any accumulated trash/debris before you pull those...

    drivetrain noise

It's could be one, or both of your front sway links is broken. Very common. It's easy to check as they are attached to the front suspension where you can see them. If it is that and even if only one is broken, replace both. If one broke, the other will soon too.
