    Leaking Differential ??

Is it the differential cover or where the diff comes into the axle? The front side is still ok to do if you know how to take the axles and everything apart. If its the cover that is leaking, take it off and put some RTV sealant on it and you're set

dose any one use a cold weather screen?

We hit -29 Monday, and it started ok, and it was ready to go about 20 minutes later. I dont think a cover will really make a huge difference for your starting, a block heater would be the way to go if you have one.

dose any one use a cold weather screen?

It wont hurt by any means, but I have never used them, and winters here get to -40+ on days, and mine starts fine. I have a block heater but have never used it, it just takes a lot longer to warm up.

    F150 extendable mirrors

I don't think they will work, Walnuts did a bit of searching for some, and Baker swapped a set of 2nd gens onto his. Looking at the mirrors, I cant say anything about the fitment, but if you look at the mirror on your expy, the bottom corner of the base that points to the front is more of a...

    Big Tex Brush Guard

Should look good when its done. I figured it would need some slight work since it attaches to the frame and most arent exactly the same.... BTW, where are you located in Iowa? I'm originally from Le Mars

    Muffler Tips, I know..

Straight pipe all the way!! But most shops aren't that bad if you take them one. Even have a sawzall or grinder, you can cut the muffler off and buy pieces to make a new one fit.... and your NYPD sticker looks crooked lol

    Auxiliary Reverse Light Question

Panda, we do all think you're crazy.... NC, Going through your wiring harness would be easiest, and definitely don't tap into the reverse lights or you wont have much power. If you cant use the wiring harness, I would run it to the battery with a relay and fuse. My Hellas came with all the...

    Christmas tree run 2011 (pics!)

haha, you guys were really prepared then, that's why I like wheeling in the mountains east of Laramie, there is pretty good cell service, and about a half hour drive to get there. If I'm worried about getting stuck, I usually go with a group. Those XDs are nice, a buddy of mine has one in a...

    New tire cost???

Expensive lol. What kind of tire are you looking for and what size wheels do you have, and are you going to keep the factory size?

    How to smooth it out?

I agree with Thermo, there isn't a whole lot to make it ride as nice as a Chevy. I'm fine with the way mine rides, but it doesn't come close to the 2010 silverado I drove this summer, but it was a nightmare when taking the truck off pavement.

    grill gaurds.

HAHA great pic Panda. I saw a sweet brush guard on an old 78 Ford the other day. The cross bars were old camshafts out of some big straight six diesels. Wish I could have gotten a picture of it

    Turning Over Problems...

It sounds like it could be your alternator. Before you start your truck for the first time each day (or whenever it turns over slow), I would take a voltmeter and check the voltage of your battery. With a fully charged battery, it should be about 12.6. 12.06 is about 50% charge. If you have...

    Newb question Re: 4x4

I've always kept to under 60 in 4x4, but i guess you guys have proved you can. I usually don't use 4x4 on the highway unless there is no visibility. Ice doesn't really bother me when Im in 2wd, just when driving the interstate to Cheyenne when its blowing 60 mph...

    Oil on front of motor

If you could get some pictures of the leak or a better description of the leak, we can help out more. How much oil are you losing? I also think it is the timing chain cover or possibly the front seal. The timing chain cover is very large and covers the entire front of the engine, so that is what...

    Towing lights not working

I would say it is probably your ground then, and the white is usually the ground wire. Make sure that the ground is actually grounding, sometimes they can be finicky, or the wire could possibly be old and broken inside. This site has a good diagram of the wiring...

    Rattling noise on small bumps

I have had a couple noises I've fixed before. The first was similar to yours, and it turned out that my lower bolts on the shocks had worn/rusted down a little and you could actually shake the shock. The other was my lower rear sway bar bolts somehow came about a 1/4 of a turn loose, but that...

    I'm a little confused...

It's up to you. If they are fairly new, then you should be good on replacing the COP's, but if they are getting old, it will be easier to replace them while you have them off then to do it again. The plug gap is easy, just get a feeler gauge and make sure the gap between the plug and electrode...
