Good day! I would like to ask if this is a correct fit for my 2000 expy 4.6 L 4x2? I replaced the air suspension with coil springs and the ride was very bouncy
Thanks!
Good morning, just wanted to ask if a fuel pump assembly of an f150 will fit in the fuel tank of my 2000 model ford expedition? I saw a low priced assembly online and just need your opinion if it will be a direct fit. Thank you.
It's been a while since I joined this forum and just wanted you to know that I'm happy I found this site when I first had my expy. The first gens are reliable trucks given some tlc and enough portion of the personal/family budget for needed repairs and parts replacement. This truck would be a...
Check or replace spark plugs on cylinder 1 and 3, check fuel pressure at idle and while revving, if low, change fuel filter, if still low, change fuel pump. If still running rough after verifying spark plugs 1 and 3, and fuel pressure is normal, try bending the tabs of the fuel injector male...
One quick way is to buy or rent an oil pressure gauge with adaptor for your engine. It will tell you if the sending unit or instrument cluster is faulty. And it will also tell you if you have a lubrication problem. I suggest don't use the truck until you have checked the oil pressure manually.
Only one cylinder is low, it could be a valve problem. You need to do a cylinder leak down test. And pull the front timing chain cover so you could check the timing marks.
I think you need 2 key fobs, 1 original and 1 replacement. The original is the one you press first followed by the replacement or spare.
Maybe you could try this to test your key fob:
Why don't you just keep it, have it repaired and use it as a Sunday car? I think it's worth keeping since you maintained it well, parts in your area is easily obtainable, it is a reliable truck. Just find the extra budget for another vehicle that's not so expensive to be your service vehicle.
Yes, that's a lot! If your engine is ok, well check cylinder compression on all 8, if ok or still within specs and you consider your truck a keeper, well then go ahead just ask for a discount.
I think you'll have a hard time on this one. It might become a money pit. Why not sell it now and scout for another expy -one that has fewer problems but be sure to bring along with you a mechanic. Good luck! Stay safe!
Remove spark plugs, clean and gap them or replace if extremely dirty and worn out. Check vacuum hoses for leaks, try to remove brake booster hose to check for brake fluid leak into the intake manifold.
Post your results.
My next bet would be a Land Rover defender if you're into import cars. It was my dad's dream vehicle. He loves British (Austin mini 850 cc) and German (VW Beetle 1969 model). God bless his soul.
Oh my! Looks like you need to go to the dealer. Why not message Ford tech Makuloco or Scanner Danner on their YouTube channel? Maybe they could give a better advice? Just search for their most recent uploads so they would see your question. Good luck! Stay safe!
