Very similar issue on my 2018 Limited, except my whole passenger DRL strip looks dim like the bottom of yours. I have PremiumCare with the exterior lighting warranty upgrade, so I am hoping it will be a simple warranty issue. That light is about $800 to buy new and that is the only way to fix...
I am looking to replace the rubber trim around the body side of the driver's door on my 2018 Limited. Somehow, I have damaged it and metal from inside the rubber is now peeking through. I checked the usual parts sites, but I am not confident in what I am looking at since none of the diagrams...
What would be a good product for removing light scratches and carwash imperfections on the black piano plastic on the doors and behind the rear quarter glass? Photo attached for reference.
My 2018 Limited (94k miles) is experiencing some transmission troubles. It started a few thousand miles ago with the well-known 5th/6th gear shudders. Now my transmission is running hot and does not shift smoothly, even with minimal driving. I don't seem to be getting full power when...
My understanding of that setting in the instrument cluster is that it disables the power liftgate system in its entirety, not just the foot part. I still want the remote and button on the dash to work. I guess it is possible they added another menu option for later years?
The power liftgate in my truck is possessed. It opens when I walk by the back of the truck, it opens when someone enters of exits either rear seat door, it occasionally opens after I close the drivers door and start to walk away from the truck. Today I was standing behind the vehicle and the...
My Expedition CEL is on with a P04F0 code. My basic code reader wouldn't even read that code, but my bluetooth one with an app did. It translates the code as "Manufacturer Defined."
I did some Google searching and found its something to do with EVAP fuel pressures. I also found a TSB with a...
My moonroof cover used to close all the way. Now it leaves a slight gap at the front which, depending on time of day and cloud cover, makes a noticeable light area still visible.
I typically only open the cover in the early morning, evening, or nighttime and keep it closed when parked or...
I think you are correct. The reservoir was not low last night when I checked - about mid way between the MIN and MAX markings. But this morning I had another puddle and the reservoir was bone dry.
I topped off the coolant and slid a plastic bin under the truck to catch whatever is leaking...
The truck is a 2018 Limited with 61k on it. You can sort of see the drying stain from the first day in the picture of the second. It does not appear to be a stain, but it certainly is taking its sweet time drying. It has not rained in a number of days.
I am with you on the not being brake...
Yesterday, there was a fairly sizable puddle coming out from under my Expedition while it was parked all day. Its backed into the driveway, which means it's inclined forward a few degrees. The leak ran from under the truck, out a couple of feet. I attached a photo of that puddle, but I had...
I put the second door back together and remembered as I put the last screw in that I forgot to take pics. I fully intended to do so while I had it apart and completely forgot. Thanks again for the tip. I have already thought of a dozen uses for that tape :)
Well @BMW2FORD I got the tape in and took the doors apart yeserday. Once apart, I was able to easily identify the rub and creaking points. I applied a layer of tape everywhere. I also wrapped up a couple of the posts where the trim slipped over it before getting screwed down. I even put it in...
Thanks for the tip! Amazon will be bringing me a roll of that tape on Tuesday. We’ll see how it goes.
I had a 2020 rental Limited as a loaner for a couple weeks and it didn’t do it. If this doesn’t work, I may start searching used auto parts sites for door panels…
I wanted to bring this topic back up because I’m at wits end. Both the front door panels on my Limited creak and squeak if even so much as the lightest pressure is applied to them. If you rest a leg against them while driving, they never stop making noise.
I’ve tried pushing electrical tape...
I have significant trouble keeping CarPlay connected and/or getting the CarPlay to recognize my phone is connected. Once it connects, if I bump the cord it will often loose connection.
I’ve used multiple known good Lightning cables with the same result.
Does this indicate a need to replace...
I figured I'd update.Took a few extra days to get the truck back due to a dealership covid-related staffing issue, but its all fixed. The provided loaner made the delay really not a big deal. They swapped the solenoid that was the source of the code and did the phaser replacement TSB. All is...
I finally got around to updating my Sync 3.0 to 3.4 using CynLabs. Totally painless. One thing I tinkered with after the update was the APIM Test Settings and looking at the different themes. While I wish it showed the Ford logo, I really like the the look of the Lincoln Black Label sync theme...
My parents cars both somehow did an OTA map update, which i had no idea was a thing. I was hoping there was some way to force it onto mine. i guess I’ll have to wait until September and see what becomes available. I’ve read a bit about the CynLabs thing, but saw people claiming the SXM icons...
I updated the maps in my 2018 Limited and got the 1/19 version which supposedly is the latest. While visiting my parents recently, I noticed both their cars had a new road visible that mine didn’t. They are both running 2/20 maps and both said the update downloaded over WiFi from the home...
So apparently email reply notifications are not working.
Dealer diagnosed it as the VVT Solenoid needing to be replaced. As a bonus, they are doing that replacement along with the TSB repairs for the cold start rattle. I dropped it off today and picked up a loaner 2020 Expedition for a week.
