good advice here i just finished a swap myself some key notes that will save you time that i found.
1. remove intake manifiold ( trust me its faster and you wont be able to reach the 2 top bolts from bell housing to block with it on anyway)
2. shop manual says unbolt ps pump from block but...

how many miles on the truck? like others said a locked up pully or compressor would have been making alot of noise and burnnot shred. things to check
1. take belt off and make sure all pullys are tight and spin freely and evenly no wobble ect,
