    Scan Tool Data

Hi, I have an AncelX6 scan tool. I was checking live data in graph form. Idle air control percent. And, idle air control A. They normally run parallel to each other. Occasionally, the idle air control A moves up and down apart from the opening percentage. Does this mean bad IAC valve? Or, a...

    Transfer case motor?

So far so good. They replaced both speed sensors on transfer case. And one on the rear differential. Time will tell. I never updated my scanner online. Thought was to keep up with newer cars. I have used scanner on this vehicle in the past. When service engine soon light was on. Or...

    Transfer case motor?

Sunday, I decided one more drive before going to shop. This time I drove over 50 mph. It binded again. When I finished shopping. I unplugged 104. And it was fine. I am surprised to hear about window leaks. It seems to be very common. I don't know if window replaced before I bought. Has never...

    Transfer case motor?

I took fuse 104 out. Took a short drive. No problem. But, no 4x4 lights were on. I put fuse back in. Still no problem. It may be that something dried out.

    Transfer case motor?

I live in New Jersey. We have had snow occasionally this year. But, the day light came on. It was light rain. When I pulled out of garage later that day. No 4x4 light. But, was locking again. I had jacked up. It seems to be released without power. So, I plan to pull the 104 fuse. And drive to...

    Transfer case motor?

I just want to get to nearby shop. If I put in 4x4 it works fine. If I put in 4low it is normal. I checked for codes and didn't have any. Something seems to be engaging on its own. Did yours engage on its own? I can only assume a bad sensor is causing it to activate on dry asphalt. Could be the...

    Transfer case motor?

Fuse 104 is for transfer motor, and clutch. Will this keep transfer from engaging? I need to drive 3 miles. I never had a windshield leak. Normally, I only drive once a week. It is in garage every night. I only drive it more often when required. Primarily, snow and ice. Or, high winds with...

    Transfer case motor?

Today I jacked up. The tranfer motor seems to work fine. I jacked only the drivers side tire. With truck ignition on. Motor off. I put in 4wd. And, can't budge. When put back into Awd. It u nlocks from rear. But, turns front drive shaft. I decided to check actuator. I removed the cover. And...

    Transfer case motor?

Hi, today driving my 2000 expy 5.4. Driving down highway in rain. I noticed my 4x4 light come on and off. At first it was irregular. But, after a couple of miles became regular. I stopped for gas. And turning out of pumps. Could feel 4wd engaged. I went to dirt lot. Tranfered to 4wd, then 4low...

    Weird Re-start

Thanks That would be cool. Seems like an in-expensive fix. I only drive it once a week. Spent saturday morning grinding rust out from under the drivers side door. Then painted it with rust-oleum rust reform. Little work here, little work there. Thanks.

    Weird Re-start

Hi, I have a 2000 ford expy with less than 100,000 miles. Has the 5.4... Runs really well, but just recently. After driving a long distance with the air on. I shut the air off before turning off the vehicle. Let the vehicle sit for a few minutes. Shopping....etc.. I started it, and it...

What Is A Good Air Freshner?

I use the little white household fresheners. (With the twist top to adjust) They fit in a cup holder really well. They come in many different scents, and are available in any dollar store or Wally World. They last a long time in a car. Just have to turn it down if the car will be sitting in...

    hitch stuck!!!

Maybe Hi, Years ago I had to beat one out with a hammer. Couldn't connect with a sledge, so used a carpenter hammer. Surprisingly the tree thing didn't work. Lately though, I think I might try an air hammer, or air chisel with the right tip. I have had to use this on rusted parts on my...

Checking In Hi, I'm in Pennsville, NJ. Right near the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Just bought my Expy around Thanksgiving. This site has been extremely helpful. I too had to get the code for my doors. Found that one on you tube. We have had a lot of snow in South Jersey this year. Waiting...

    What transmission

Hi, There has to be an easy way to see what transmission I have. I have a 99 XLT... It has the same gear selector that my 93 Bronco has. ( the little push switch to turn off overdrive ) It feels like it has more shift points. I am just curious as to what I have. What's the best way to check?

    Ignition coils...

I just bought my 2000 around thanksgiving. It only has around 97,000 miles. It runs so well. I think I will wait for a performance problem, before I start messing with plugs. Most people I know never talk about replacing the boots. They're so sure it has to be the coil. I would love to know...

    Removing exterior door trim insert

Thanks, Thank you, I seen foil tape at the auto store. I was wondering how that would work. Mine is bubbled really bad. Afraid it would eventually cause problems. I've seen on another site that a heat gun will allow me to pull the insert out. The inch and 3/8 chrome is the perfect width. I...
