For me it was the A pillar post was draining water in that area and therefore rusted the wire splice. Glad you found it.

    2003 Expedition EB electrical problems

I agree with docraymund. Had the same issue with check advance trac and would not go into 4 wheel drive. Other things that also did not work was backup sound alarm, power seat positions, compass, mirrows and a couple of other things. It is usually the purple, some call it violet wire in the...

    2003 Ford Expedition 4x4 module

You can buy them on ebay for $100 or less. I bought two but that was not the problem. Mine was a corroded broken wire (violet). Once found and soldered everything starting working again. See my post from about a year ago which explains where it is located.

Water Leaking at Grab Handle. HELP!!

Thanks. I did the same but used a heavy duty string trimmer line. The problem seems to be where the drain line terminates which is in between the inner and outer fender. This area gets clogged with dirt and debri. I also used a strong stream of water under the vehicle in this area to wash...

Water Leaking at Grab Handle. HELP!!

Thanks, this and the picture will be very helpful. Maybe after I pull the headliner I can see what is going on. I don't understand if the drain line is clogged or if the drain line has come loose from the drain pan how water is getting from the drain pan to the A pillar and leaking at the grab...

    Please Help!!

I had similar problems with my 2003. When the engine is put under a higher than normal load it would miss. EX: going up hill or accelarating to pass. Mech said it was coil pack. I replaced them all since when one goes out they trend to continue to go out on the other cylinders. This solved...

Water Leaking at Grab Handle. HELP!!

Thanks. I will try that. We have had a little rain here over the last couple of days and more on the way. I actually plugged the top roof rib with plumbers putty where it goes under the top rubber trim on the windshield. So far it has not leaked but we have not had a hard rain. It seems odd...

Water Leaking at Grab Handle. HELP!!

It is the front driver side grab handle. The seals around door look ok. I do have sunroof but does not appear to be leaking as the catch pan is dry and dusty and no evidence of water on the headliner. The water is obviously coming from inside of the A pillar and leaking where the grab handle...

    Sunroof Drain tube

I am having the same problem many are having with water leaking from the front drivers grab handle. I understand the drain tube runs down this A pillar but what I don't understand is if the drain tube is clogged as so many post have indicated how could that cause water to leak from the grab...

    2003 expedition electrical problems

Search "check advancetrac + mutiple systems failing" - the problem is most likely a broken violet wire at the front drivers kick plate. Read all post in this string and I think you will solve most if not all the electrical problems you described.

Advancetrac Problem solved Thanks to all members who posted concerning the break in the purple or violet wires coming off the A pillar at the kick panel. After spending a ton of money on the control shift motor, 4x4 control module and several hours paying a mech anic to ohm wires with no...
