What's the trick to reboot? I had the screen go out on me during a long road trip across the Great Plains. It came back after about 4 hours and stopping for fuel. However, I remember that I still had climate controls, so they must be part of different software systems.
Well i do my own oil changes and tire rotates, maybe this is a good enough reason to take it in for a mutlipoint inspection and have them update the software. I'm only at 11k miles
Anyone know how to manually force the update to the trailer module that is part of the recall? Besides going to the dealership? I was towing the boat to the lake this weekend and it threw some error codes about lights and then did hyperflash on the turn signals after unhooking. After a...
All i know is that we used our previous 3rd gen to tow a 5k lbs boat up and down the mountains in New Mexico at 7,000 ft no problem, and never had a WDH on it. Towed better than my fleetwood diesel pusher with a jeep behind it. Getting ready for summer and so far the couple times i've towed...
There's another thread here where someone did the install with a full write up. I will probably do it sometime this summer. I think it's in the electrical or body section
You can get a printed manual for about $50, there's a link on here somewhere. As for oil changes, I'll do them at 5k miles which typically works out to 6 months for oil, so after a hard summer of towing a boat it's ready for fresh oil to do winter work. Oil changes on these vs the 3rd gen 3.5...
Following. I have the JeepAA app for my Cherokee that displays that stuff on the radio. Would be nice to have something for the Expedition when we're towing the boat.
It's not a SYNC system anymore, it's an operating system with Android. The only updates to come through have been "behind the scenes" and they are automatic to the truck.
Take a wrench with you to disconnect the battery if needed for 30 secs or so. Seems like these trucks need a Ctrl+Alt+Del reset now and then. That or maybe it's a thermal issue? Too long of use and the screen decides it needs a break? We were driving west and had a lot of sun on a warm day...
Had it happen to us while driving back home during Christmas break in the middle of Colorado. Lasted all the way through Denver and Colo Springs until we stopped for gas again in Southern Colorado. I had cycled the engine a couple times, nothing happened. Then it randomly came back after...
Of course....I was a huge fan with Ford and Expeditions. The motor is stout and mechanically the truck is awesome. But someone needs to be fired in the electronics and execution department.....
Nice to hear the split gate open on approach is a known issue. I tried calling / chatting / emailing Ford multiple times and they just gave a BS call center answer that said go see your dealer
