Hi all,
I’ve attached a pic of a small coolant leak discovered using UV dye on my 2018 Expy. It’s been pretty intermittent with an about a 1/3 cup found under the truck one day a couple of weeks ago and then nothing since. My OCD so t let it go♂️.
I had a tranny overheat issue in April...
Follow up:
Dealership stood behind their service and agreed to pay everything except the refund on the initial transmission service cost of $675 stating that they are honoring the warranty, express and implied. I actually agreed with that explanation. Everything else though tow, lost salary...
I’ve been down this road and there is nothing out there to make it possible to check the transmission fluid level easily.
After just having the dealership overfill my tranny by a lot which resulted in overheat and fluid hemorrhaging from the relief vent I can testify there are no warning...
Not serviced directly... The transmission overheated due to being overfilled which cause an engine temp spike. I wonder if the coolant boiled and produced air pockets….I will try to bleed any air out this evening. Still open to any other ideas. Thanks
2018 Expedition XLT Max. I just recovered from a tranmission overfill / overheat issue thanks to negligent dealer service. Now the electronic engine temp gauge in the cluster swings from 226 degrees on the high end to 205 degrees, spiking lower sometimes to 198 degrees on the low end within...
My thoughts too would be small claims if they fail to reimburse me. I have sent a reimbursement demand with accompaning reciepts today with a demand for reimbursement within 10 days via check. There were other incidentals that I couldn't be bothered with like my time to return to Phoenix to...
In March 13, 2023 I took my 2018 Expedition XLT Max to the dealership for transmission filter and fluid change at 45633 miles. Early I know but I don't have confidence in lifetime fluids and I want to keep this truck in my life for many years. I noticed 4 drops of tranny fluid on the garage...
I just wanted to follow up and let everyone know that CS at ForScan assisted me within 24hrs to locate the right setting and enable the “Oil Life Reset” function in my IPC. Very responsive and helpful. ForScan is the bomb for setting your vehicle up the way you want it and enable the functions...
I have a 2018 Expedition and just changed the oil and the Oil Life Reset button is missing. Can’t find it any any sub menus engine on or in accessories. The last thing I did was add global window open/shut from the key fob with ForScan and I’m wondering if the menu icon was replaced with the...
I use Mobil 1, change it as I approach 5k miles usually at about 4500 miles. 2018 XLT, no cold start up issues..... yet, less than 19000 miles and will do my fourth oil change this week. I don’t think the type of oil is the problem, it’s the gunked up passage ways, stopping or delaying...
I would rather see a report on long term quality. Initial quality surveys are done before the new car honeymoon is over. Many at the top of the initial quality list turn to crap after 100k miles. Not defending Ford, but I don’t see the value of Initial Quality survey results and I certainly...
Cancel the deal and wait 3 months. Ford will be begging people to buy their rigs. Also check the rental companies vehicle sales sites as they are desperate to sell too. They’ll be even more desperate come October.
Get your phone and video each time it happens. Describe on the video where you are, what specifically is happening. Video the dash and any warning lights and error messages that appear. Show video to service writer and demand repair. If they give you the runaround demand to see service manager.
I’ve had my JLT in for a month. Not a lot of driving, but some, bone dry. To me that’s good, means the EGR system is working. I was expecting immediate results of finding oil in the can. I put a similar catch can in my wife’s 2014 Sonata which is just direct injected and she drives to work every...
This happened yesterday and hit my wife in the head. We were unloading pizzas for the hospital she works at. I assumed her foot accidentally activated the tailgate....I will put it on the list of stuff for the next warranty service.
