Remote start setting off panic alarm
I've tried that. It won't even recognize that I'm trying to remote start when doing it that way. I assume that the newer factory installed system is very different from the dealer installed one that mine has. Think I'll change the batteries in the fobs and see if that does anything- Kody bailey

Haven't taken anything apart yet, but did check for loose connections. Everything seems to be good. I also tried a different sequence. Instead of lock, I hit unlock on the key fob, then the start button on the remote start fob. Chirp once, doors lock, stuff starts happening like normal, the...- Kody bailey

When I push and hold the button on the one button remote. The horn chirps one time as if I pressed lock twice on the regular key fob. I pressed lock twice then hit the remote start. I believe this it what you have to do in the newer systems but I have no idea. Is that what your sequence is?- Kody bailey

My wife and i just bought a 2010 limited. It has a ford gen2 remote start that I'm guessing was an after thought and installed by the dealer. It's a separate key fob with one button.
