If you have Forscan you can enable Police mode which disables all interior and puddle lights when the door is opened and a silent mode that AFAIK ensures the lights dont turn on when approaching the car or unlocking, some googling of police mode, dark mode silent mode will get you the info you want
Mine lasted 3.5 years (Alberta winters too) before replacing but even with a new AGM, battery monitor reset etc the low voltage cutoff kicked in on the new battery after about a year. I have a battery tender that's AGM compatible but I agree with the above, Fords low voltage logic vs letting the...
Sorry I dont know when it became a thing. Not my graphics and blurb, copy pasted from ecoboost forum. Maybe someone there might know.
Where I stole from
But judging by posting date since always
Only one thermostat, it was always a cold side thermostat on these engines. The upgraded part bit is that the factory thermostat had a habit of sticking after a while so , I believe, since August 2022 a revised thermostat is now used with the plastic part.
But any thermostat you buy from napa...
TDLR; 3.5 Ecoboost uses a cold side thermostat, use Motorcraft part number HL3Z8575B
Recently I noticed my temperatures fluctuating a lot more than usual, driving on a straight flat road, no wind, temps would climb up to 107 to 109 (225f to 228f) and I could hear the fan roaring. Then for no...
Just replaced my windshield 3 weeks ago, picked up a big chip on Sunday :(
Guess I'll be on my 3rd windshield in 9 months.
Care to elaborate about the premium windshield being more susceptible?
seems to be a common issue with light hoods
If you want to video something exciting wait for a breezy day with the wind coming from left to right on a single lane and wait for a truck to pass. You'll think the hood is going to crease.
Another thread earlier about same...
Theres a setting in the dash, let the car choose or last setting,
I asked about this last year and the response i got was https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/user-manual-questions.37168/#post-319326
And I was right in my comment in the end, the car always picks what I don't want :)
Some people have used power from rear mirror, I ran my cables to the right, down the pillar, down to passenger footwell where all the fuses reside just inside the door. micro add-a-fuse and off we go.
Look in the wheel well at front, there is a flap in the lining you can pull back, has a screw retaining it from memory, may have to turn the wheel in to see it. Once undone you can reach up to access the rear of the assembly to gain access
General consensus is the Platinums require more than...
I always liked the Subaru boxer engine sound, the offset length of the header pipes due to the 2<->2 flat layout always sounded nice to my ear. Also like the Dodge Rams with 2 pipes one from each bank, again that nice offset sound if your standing at an angle to the rear as it idles by...
Drove mine down to Flagstaff in August, over the Hoover dam in 45C, Grand Canyon to Vegas in +40C, never an issue.
But I was on vacation so typically motoring along which always helps the AC dissipate heat. But even pootling around Vegas on the strip and general slow poke driving while sight...
Made me think of a road trip where we overnighted in Edmonton. Driving an Acadia with a roof box. Of course family want to visit West Edmonton Mall, traffic is heavy I see a gap to cross the road, tear up the ramp and about 5 feet short of the height warning barrier all I see is people staring...
I guess because A) not everyone has a max and B) it requires getting a stepladder out and a measuring tape, so not just a 10 second step outside thing :)
I liked my Silverado for that, the wing mounted antenna was (I assume deliberately) just higher than the roof. If the antenna cleared it the truck would too.
How about the center fold seat from a Silverado? Has a proper 3 point belt, folds down to be a console when not in use and might fit.
As above, you'll have to relocate the shift and drive train selectors but as it is all electrical wiring and no physical linkages, should be easy enough to move...
If its cable not blue-tooth then I had to try 4 different cables until I got one that didn't do that. Even though they all felt tight there must have been enough wiggle due to vibrations to disconnect.
The one I have now is one of the cheaper types but no issues now with disconnecting.
Nor is there a way to fold them down or more importantly raise them up without opening the tailgate as I discovered when parked with a truck inches from my rear and was taking on extra passengers.
I had to pull out of parking space (was parallel parked) onto the road to jump out, open tailgate...
