I have the same low speed shuddering on my '17. Other posts in this forum suggested replacing the rear end clutches. I am having that done tomorrow. They looked at it at the dealer and said the clutches were worn and trying to fully engage the inside real wheel when it needs to be going...
I had my concession trailer hooked up the other day. I had the brake controller gain set to the normal strength and the brakes grabbed very hard. They almost locked up. I have hauled this trailer in 9 states so far, and it has never done this before. I adjusted the gain down to almost...
Thanks, but I learned long ago to stop filling when the nozzle shuts off. This is my wife's car and I have a hard time getting her to understand not to run the gas tank so low. The tank being that empty may have caused an overpressure in the fuel system that blead off at the valve under the hood.
After refueling my 2017 expedition today, there was a strong smell of gasoline in the cab of the vehicle. My wife said it also happened the last time she refueled. I took it to the nearest Ford dealer, one and a half hours away. It still smelled strongly of gasoline. After they checked...
I had the same thing happen on my F150. It was a vacuum leak in the right front wheel. It should be repaired soon before it does costly damage. I don't remember the repair costing much.
I took my '17 expy to Georgia to pick up a trailer and haul it back to Montana. The Expy has the heavier payload and towing package. The trailer I picked up is about 10 feet tall and 8.5 feet wide. Although the Expy had no problems towing the trailer, it spent most of the trip in 4th and 5th...
I have noticed a high pitched grinding noise in my heater fan (2017 EL). I am not much of a mechanic. Is this something easy to find and fix without tearing things up?
No need for a pat on the back, but 20 years Marine Corps. Turned it over to the young guys and gals and joined the U.S. Customs service. Retiring there in a year and a half. Then hitting the road with the Expy and concession trailer.
I got my 2017 Expedition used. It now has 36000 miles on it, so I am keeping an eye on the tires. When I replace them, I will probably go with the BF Goodrich All-Terrain AT KO2. I have these on my F-150 and have no problem pulling my loaded flatbed trailer with a tractor on it through snow...
I have the same engine in my 2004 F150. Usually ticks when the engine is warmed up. Had a mechanic check it out a few years ago and was told it is a characteristic of the engine. He said it is the timing phasers and also suggested to use the lighter weight oil.
