I have the gotts mod currently with a 3" plastic extension to the fender with a napa filter. I recently put on a superchips programmer and have a 3" exhaust. Trying to up my mileage a bit. In town my last tank was 11.3. Lol. Its just my work truck, but still.
The best id ever done was something...
Yeah my 15 is WAAAY out of warranty, lol 181k miles. So that was not a concern for me.
And i wouldnt say you hear the turbos any more. I would like to make a set of bigger turbo inlet pipes as well and i think that would definitely increase the flow and turbo sound.
This is definitely a nice...
I may try to play with the clamps a little but the box itself would need to go down just a scoosh to clear the lid. Or I could remove the hood liner? Meh. Whatever. Its almost time for supper.
After opening and closing the hood a few times I have noticed that the clear lid and the very top of the main intake tube just baaaarely come into contact with the hood liner. I suspect after a while there could be a tiny bit of chafing.
Other than that, no huge differences upon driving the...
Hey all. This isn't necessarily a review, but i guess kind of. I decided to put it here, if a moderator sees fit to move it i would have no qualms with that.
Anyways, I'm VERY pleased with my 15 expy EL limited. It has been an amazing family car, gets really good mileage for its size, and it...
I bought my '15 expedition last spring with 168,000 miles on it. Ford recommends changing the transmission fluid by 150k miles.
It was kind of a pain but I just disconnected one of the cooler lines at the front and let some pump out then I added that much back in the pan. Did that til my jug...
Sorry, double post.
And please forgive the numerous spelling errors. Im on my phone and this thing has the worst spelling suggestion checker thing I have ever witnessed on God's green earth.
I bought a 15 expy EL back in March and so far ( i havent read all the replies) I am the highest or at least the highest milease i have heard of the ecoboost equipped expys now currently at 174k. I bought it at 168k from a semi-local sealer for a price i couldn't believe. This is very unusual...
16 plati, sounds good!
I'll dig a bit and see what i can find!
Unless you have a link for me?
*edit*
Just did a quick search and found it. Seemed easy enough. Followed the procedure and i will see how it drives tonight when we head out to a friends place.
I also removed the intake "plug"...
I can see how that would make sense, but I was standing behind it the other day while it was running and loading stuff in the back, and it got kinda toasty back there too!
I could see an argument for either.
Yeah I bought it from a dealer back in March and the previous owner used it to drive all over the place for their clothing business, so it was all Hwy miles anyway.
Ive been slowly changing the fluids out, first was the tranny, rear diff, and I'm trying the amsoil 5w30 signature synthetic too...
I know there are other threads asking about if people have done this, so I will just add to the pile now and share my first "mod" on my 2015 expedition el.
Ive never tried doing this from my phone so i hope the attachments work. If not, im sorry for my ignorance.
Basically, 2015 expy has 170k...
I agree that flow is flow but air density is also a thing.
Dynos do not tell the whole truth because most of the time people dyno they leave the hood open. When you do this you give the intake WAAAY more cool air than it would normally get in real world conditions.
With an intake that is...
I was just on s&b's website the other day and they have a pn for the expedition, and all of the testing protocol has been released, but it did still say "coming soon."
But actually i just now checked again and it is listed for sale! #75-5130 is the pn for 15-17 expeditions.
And youre probably...
Also, do you have to have it tuned if you run an intake or an exhaust?
I know companies like S&b and banks will calibrate things so they wont cause a cel, and honestly those are the only two companies i would consider. But is it liable to hurt anything if i want to do hardparts first and then a...
Yeah that! Any pictures? Im thinking of using the factory tip even so it looks clean. Just want to cut down on backpressure a bit. Anything to let it breathe a bit better.
I was thinking of just making 4" Y back exhaust ans jist putting in a semi muffler but that seems a bit overkill.
The tranny was slightly more of a pain than i thought it would be but it ended up ok. I just took off the line behind the grill that leads into the cooler and had that drain into a bucket. I tried just filling unto the other line but it didnt want to drink it from there, so i just kept adding it...
Wow. This thread got long. And useless!
Well, mostly useless. Not entirely.
Good news! I changed my tranny fluid last night with amsoil merc lv and today i did the rear with with a msoil 75w90 severe gear. I'll do the front end and the center diff another day with more time.
Still planning...
