Welp...they totaled it. I got a lawyer, since they're offering me a fraction of what it is gonna cost me to find something comparable in this market.
Maybe I'll be around these parts in the future...depending on what I can find to purchase.
I loved my Expedition!
This is the TRUTH. I made the guy's insurance company rent me a truck, since I lost my ability to tow my kid's HS band trailer.
They claim they're going to fix it. I honestly don't think frame is bent. We will see.
I added up receipts of the work I've had done on it in the last 2.5 years...
Someone decided they needed to turn left out of a gas station without looking first.
His Jeep Compass is toast. I'm wondering if insurance will total my expo though... 230k, but in pristine condition. Freaking drivers.
I def feel the binding at times when turning sharp in 4A. Unfortunately I don’t know if that’s normal or not…all my other vehicles have been car based AWD.
I got a quote today to replace both front wheel hubs (IWE I think it’s called) is around $600. At this point I might as well do it so I...
Hey y’all…2007 Limited 4x4.
One of my front hubs is engaged…the other isn’t. My mechanic mentioned instead of replacing the hub, just keep it in 4A.
I’ve seen this debated both ways…good and bad.
However…I’ve noticed lately that in 4A…when accelerating…it sometimes feels ‘gravelly’, and...
I am also experiencing the 'bump', or rough downshift when coming to complete stop.
I'm wondering if the refreshing helped the OP shift better when coming to stop?
Hey all…
My transmission (07 Limited) leaked a good amount of fluid when it was sitting for a few weeks (it doesn’t leak when I drive it regularly though?!). As such, I finally checked the fluid yesterday and it was only about a quarter inch on the dipstick.
I’ve noticed it shifting kind of...
I’ve had the EXACT problem on my 07. It doesn’t leak when I’m driving it daily. But if it sits for a few days…I find a freaking puddle.
Bulkhead connector is what I suspect. But I didn’t know if the 07’s had that issue like the 09-10 did.
Hey everyone...i've never experienced something like this...
I haven't driven my Expy in a few days (the gas prices are killin me)...and tonite I noticed a puddle of transmission fluid underneath and actually witnessed a few drops actively coming down when I crawled underneath. What on earth...
I'm sorry, but I disagree. LED manufacturers are finally figuring out the correct length and placement of LED diodes so they reflect better in the stock housings. Early days, yes. They were a disaster with brightness but poor light throw and weird cutoffs. Buying a brand that is reputable...
I believe my 07 has different headlights than your 15...but I purchased these LED headlights off amazon...and I have never been more pleased. I actually liked them so much, I purchased them for all four of my vehicles. I agree, the stock headlights left a lot to be desired. These remedied that...
So I’ve been trying to figure out if it’s my front hubs being locked that are causing the heavy steering I’m experiencing at times.
I had a mechanic friend check it out…turns out yes…I have a front hub actuator that’s bad. But apparently my steering u-joint is binding and that’s causing the...
OK, that helps. I think the weird thing for me is that while I’m driving around in 4WD auto, sometimes the steering wheel is heavy in corners, and sometimes it’s not. I’m not sure what issue that points to, because technically the hubs are engaged. Maybe the transfer case is actually sending...
Ok...I jacked it up again with the engine running (to create vacuum) and the driver wheel spun freely...the passenger hub was engaged.
Now........I'm betting it's probably the seal at the wheel hub that's leaking?
Ok…that makes sense.
Today I jacked up the front end and pulled tire off. If the hub is still engaged…does that mean the half shaft spins with the wheel? Or does it spin with the wheel even when the hub isn’t engaged?
Sorry for these questions: I’m not familiar with how the 4WD works on this thing.
Ok that’s good info.
I drove it to work this morning and noticed two things:
1. It’s not consistent
2. When it’s happening, the steering wheel doesn’t want to come back to center after turning a corner.
Would that be power steering related? It’s not making any odd sounds, just suddenly gets...
So...it was snowing in KC last week...so I put the Expy in 4WD high a few times when the roads were really slick. This thing is a beast in the snow!
Tonite however, I noticed my steering feels heavy...as though the 4WD is engaged still...even when I have it in 2WD. Is it possible it's still in...
