    Parking Brake Malfunction

A few days in. New calipers seem to have resolved the issue. However I can't say I don't cringe a little every time I use that electronic brake.

    Parking Brake Malfunction

No, not in tow mode. Dealer called back and said without much confidence its the calipers. They are covered under warranty so they are replacing them. Crossing my fingers...

    Parking Brake Malfunction

Oh, I forgot to mention, the last time they had it, they applied an ABS update. That time when I was driving home I used the parking brake at a light, but when I tried to release, it went crazy alerting me the brake was not released. Chimed all the way back to the dealership! So slightly...

    Parking Brake Malfunction

About a month ago, I got the Parking Brake Malfunction | Service Now message on the dash. I remembered the dealer told me my pads were low so I figured that was root cause. A day or two later, the parking brake got stuck on - seemed to be just one wheel. I turned it on and off and kept...

    Fuel avg MPG sux

'18 Max with tow package and similar numbers to OP: 13-ish around town (very short trips) and 19-22 highway. I also have a roof rack and often am carrying a rocketbox, which drops the highway numbers a bit. I also tried running ECO and don't think it made a significant change. Certainly...

    Autostop eliminator

Just curious, what's the big deal with the autostop? Heck most of the time mine doesn't kick in (off) and I am just left wondering why. Seems like if the heat or AC is needed, or if the 3rd row is filled it never shuts off. So I guess I'm annoyed by not understanding it's algorithm, but...

I think I mentioned before I ran the Geolander ATs for many years on a Honda pilot and had no issues with ride or noise. I've only taken this set home from the tire shop so haven't put highway miles on yet, but the ride around town is the same as with the factory Hankooks. The tire rack video...

    Tire rotation TPMS Position

Nope. I bought the rig with 32k and just turned over 48k - pretty even treadwear. I think the tires (both factory and my new Geolanders) list 50psi as max. If checking them cold I'd put them at 45 just to be safe.

    Tire rotation TPMS Position

I've always run the higher pressure because I do a lot of highway miles. Seems to ride fine. Good point though - maybe I should try 40 and see if I notice any difference.

    Tire rotation TPMS Position

Glad I searched for TPMS before posting... I just got a new set of tires. On the way home, I wondered, "How much pressure did they put in?". At a stop light I checked and couldn't believe my eyes: 3 @ ~40psi and 1 @ ~50!. Puzzled, I left the display on that screen and continued home. Then...

PS, I can't recommend Discount Tire in the Northgate/Seattle, WA area. Had to wait over 15 mins to checkin - despite having an appt. They lost my chromie valve caps. They left me air pressure at 40,40,40 and 50. WTF?

Finally pulled the trigger on the Geolanders. I'm really surprised there aren't more customer reviews online for the BFG Trail Terrain. Chose the Geo's because I remember them working very well on our Honda Pilot and the Tire Rack official review claimed it was a reviewer fav - outperformed...

Leaking Front passenger axle seal (and oil change tips)

I just checked and its still a little wet with oil. Also noticed some oil staining on the felt panel. Scheduled and appt with the dealer so it can get checked before ski season starts and we hit the mtns.

    Leaking steering rack

good pic. I wouldn't worry about it. Doesn't seem to be seeping. Almost looks like someone had some crud on them and just bumbed the location in question.

    Leaking steering rack

I'm confused. Yes, I know it's 4x4. your picture appears to the be the rack to me, not the axle. In fact, I believe I can see the axle shaft in the background of one of your pics. Thread title says Axle leak ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Leaking steering rack

Axle shaft? This seems more like the steering box where the tie rods exit. If I'm correct, there should not be axle grease in there. Ironically, I just posted about my front gearcase leaking today.

Leaking Front passenger axle seal (and oil change tips)

Sorry, I wiped off the oil from the axle, but you can tell where it's been wet. I would say there is nearly zero chance it's not the end of the axle seal. Picture of the dry shock as well.

Leaking Front passenger axle seal (and oil change tips)

Went to change the oil for the second time yesterday. FYI, it worked really well to drive up on ramps in the front and a stack of 2 2x8's in the back (so the front is slightly higher). All the oil from the filter ran nicely out the back of the plastic drain tray. I had put 6K miles on Kirkland...

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm 99% sure I'm going with the Geolanders. I've seen a few on other cars and I really like the look. I think they might last a little less than the BFG TrailTerrain, but I like the more aggressive tread near the edge. Plus, I ran these on a Honda Pilot and...

    Drive mode default

Hmm, my 2018 Platinum seems to do just fine setting tow mode whenever the electrical plug is inserted. It informs me the next time I start it that it's off - no trailer detected. Nice feature, but dumb that it has to display an alert for 10 or so seconds unless I hit the ok button.

    AWD Mode

I have to agree. I have not done extensive testing, but with minimal comparison, 4A vs 2H doesn't seem to make a significant impact on fuel economy. I agree... doesn't make sense. I have been driving more aggressive lately and I'm starting to think I should use 4A more for safety reasons...

When you should have bought a max

wife, 2 kids, 3 bikes, one mini Aussie and camping gear easily filled our max. Bike and some gear was actually in the boat. You can tell I have a decent load in the back by the rear wheel clearance. I do like the look of the non-max but I have not once regretted getting the max. I also...
