Thank you! I got some inspo from your rig btw!
The top plate was replaced to fit the bolt pattern and also the lower bushing. The bushing was replaced and a sleeve has been put through.
Luckily the had all the spare parts for their shocks avl.
I will try to get better pictures of the rear...
The raptor diffs swap was straighforward.
I directly swapped the front diff, for the rear I only replaced the pinion bearing then installed the ring and pinion to spec and that was it.
For now both are open diffs, might put a locker in the future.
Hi guys, it has been a while since my last thread where I was gathering informations for diff swap.
The second pic is the modified expedition next to my identical 2wd expedition.
I am in the process of testing the shocks and might lift a bit more.
For now the truck feels great, very torquey and...
Update!
I am getting a good deal on raptor 4.10s, front will come with a locker.
Just wanted to make sure they did bolt right up? Even my stock axles will work with the front raptor diff?
Ideal would be 4.10s
Axle code is 15 on mine, the standard 3.31
What code should I look for to get 4.10s?
I didnt find any yet on scrap navigators and expeditions. Most are 3.31 some 3.73
Hi everyone, I am working on an overland build for my 2013 Expedition.
I have the standard 3.31 open diff code 15, and was planning to regear to 3.73 with e lsd because I will be upsizing to 35 inch tires.
I researched online and the forums to get the right code that will work with my 2013 but...
What gear ratio do you have on the ssv? I am installing 35s on my Limited this week with 3.31.
Was wondering if you felt a power loss and how does it drive on the highway?
Hi everyone !
I wanted to revive this thread to say that I finally found the exact same Expedition but in 4wd.
I am starting an overland build on it, bunch of parts bought and getting assembled this week
I will start another thread because I have questions about gear ratio and lsd
They are not extremely popular, they are not rare but you see way more toyota, nissan and gm in full size suv than fords. F series and other ford models are very popular but for some reason not the expedition
Thanks @JExpedition07 that really helps, i guess i will not do the conversion then. I wanted to do it if it was really bolt on parts change but seems like too much work.
@riphip I already have a Jeep Cherokee that i take offroad, but i have a big family and we are more than 5 so we take both...
Thanks for sharing your experience. I was actually planning on doing an oem conversion from a donor truck, i've read somewhere that it was pretty much bolt on. But since everyone is advising me not to do it ...
I am still waiting for the parts list and from there i'll decide if i go for it or...
