I went back and found some of my comments I shared with Hellwig:
The diameter of the Hellwig bar is 22mm and the OEM bar is 22mm
The weight of the Hellwig bar is exactly the same as the OEM bar - both indicated 10.6 lbs on my digital bathroom scale.
The Hellwig bar bolts to the end links in...
Yes I did go with Hellwig - It was very similiar to the existing rear bar on my Timberline both in diameter and weight. If I had to do it again I would first replace all the OEM bushings with HD urethane bushings before spending the money on a new rear bar.
The trailer I tow is less than 3000 lbs and no issues - but after I put spacers on the wheels the front did rub and I trimmed and moved the front fender liners forward about an inch or inch and a half I also used my Dremel to trim the front lower urethane. No issues after that.
I was looking to modify some Raptor fender flares until I looked at the Baja Forged fender flares and I liked them - I mentioned it a few weeks ago to see if anyone wanted to do a group buy but not much interest here. I have some on order.
If we are talking about lifting and larger tires - is anyone considering a mild fender flare? Personally I think it fits the body well and doesn't make it look so slab sided. Anyone up for a group buy?
I searched everywhere last summer and at that time the only custom fit kit I could find was Baja Forged - I have one on order. Everything else was a rubber lip that had to be formed.
+1 I always wear my seat belt - but when I get home and check the mailbox at the end of my driveway - I dont put my seat belt on - the chime was driving me crazy - I went through the procedure and it worked.
Pilot sounds like you are educated and have done your homework - if it were me and I had that data I would do exactly what you are contemplating - open up the air flow to the IC. If you are not going to tune and increase boost - based upon your load values I dont see much advantage in a new IC...
I've literally had zero issues. No trimming on front or back. I am running Recon Grapplers 295/70/18. I dont know how the Wildpeak sizing compares - All manufacturers 295's are not the same - for example the KO2's definitely run smaller.
Since Readylift would not sell the 2" rear lift by itself I had to purchase the entire 3/2 kit. I'm going to be selling just the front 3" spacers that came in the kit that I didn't use. These are quality pieces not cheap Ebay knock offs. It will have instructions and the nuts that came with...
Loki - have you done any oil analysis on these ecoboost engines? I wouldn’t be surprised if we were good for anywhere from 8-10k miles depending on use. Personally I use a 6k change interval but its probably excessive.
Thank you - totally agree with you. My son had an F150 with 6" lift and 37's - this is definitely not that look. Its a subtle change but I think it looks "right". I'm going to experiment with some quality Bora spacers with the stock wheels before I upgrade to new wheels. - In spite of all...
Here's a couple of pics: 1.5" Ready Lift front leveling with 2" rear - I didn't do anything else, I think the larger diameter of the rear tire just fills up the wheel well better than the smaller oem tires. It looks well balanced - front height from ground to fender is 39 3/8" rear height...
The service manual indicates 406 lb ft for this bolt? In all my years of wrenching on cars I have never seen a spec requiring 406 lb ft? Is there a mathematical difference between lb ft and ft lbs? I cant believe this is accurate?
I have just installed the rear so far - I plan on having the front done this weekend. Then I'll take some profile pics. The rear was really easy. I'm happy to share a few tips on my install.
I have been running Nitto Recon Grappler 295/70/18 with OEM wheels with no issues. I also have a Raptor and the Expy is no Raptor but its really quite capable for a big SUV - the rear elsd is not going to be as stout as the Raptor. It really depends on what your intended use is...
