    Check that roof rust !

This is the number one post the comes up when you put a search in google on rust roof and expedition. I wanted to include my solution in case others wanted options. For me, Durabak solved my issues, but also heavy rust abatement...

2005 Limited - Roof Rust - My solution - pictures and process included

Just a quick progress update. It's been almost 6 months now and we're heading into winter. So far, the roof continues to withstand all that mother nature can throw at her which isn't much since it doesn't rain much in SD but we've had some rain here and there and so far, no leaks.

2005 Limited - Roof Rust - My solution - pictures and process included

Update - It's been about 3 weeks but we finally had a bit of rain overnight. Gave me a chance to see if there were any leaks and there were none. Hopefully, it will be this way for the the remainder of my ownership!

Oxygen Sensors - DIY - my experience - 3 out of 4 done - Passenger Side Downstream/Heat Shield Help!

At 154000 miles, I finally decided to change my oxgen sensors. More preventative though since I'm not getting any codes. Though, I am hoping my fuel economy might get better. I went with Denso's from RockAuto and since my original oxygen sensors are nearly 20 years old and are likely due. The...

Labor costs for idle tensioner belt pulleys on a 2003 expedition.

This one is definitely a DIY job. I literally just did this a month ago and it took only an hour. Toughest part of the job is belt routing.

How many miles on your 2nd Gen Ford Expedition?

So I'm the original owner of this and while I'm fairly handy, engine internals are definitely not something I would feel comfortable doing. So, unless there's specific a specific check engine light or it starts to 'sound really bad', I just plan to do the basic maintenance on her until the...

How many miles on your 2nd Gen Ford Expedition?

Original owner just trying to build up my post count here. Anyway, 2005 Limited with tow package. Completely reliable at 154K with the exception of the rust on the roof. I have a separate post documenting how I fixed it. Anyway, I also just performed some heavy (to me) preventative maintenance...

2005 Limited - Roof Rust - My solution - pictures and process included

Because I plan to keep this expedition for at least 2 - 3 years, I needed a little added insurance to the roof lasting and heard (from this forum, actually) great results from using bedliner, Rhino, Rapter, etc. A little bit of research and this led me to the product I chose to go with, Durabak...

2005 Limited - Roof Rust - My solution - pictures and process included

New member here, but thought I would contribute by documenting my diagnosis and treatment of what appears to be a common issue with 2nd gen expeditions, roof rust. To be honest, I've been dealing with this problem for about 5 years, but in the past month decided to take the deepest dive I could...

Lurking for years, but finally registered! 2005 Limited owner

Hello to all. I've been using the site for years to get information on keeping my limited on the road. Anyway, just wanted to say hello and will post up my recent experience mitigating the roof rust issues these 2nd gen expeditions seem to be experiencing.
