I just rebuilt the front differential in my 2017 Expedition because one of the bearings was going out (apparently a common problem with these where the bearings and bearing cup start to break down/delaminate). I replaced all bearings and seals, got everything dialed in to spec (see below) and...
My 2005 Expedition has been making a new noise lately. When driving at lower speeds (under 20 mph) after driving for about five minutes or so, you’ll notice a constant squealing-type of noise that seems to be coming from under the car. It’s got new brakes and pressing the brake doesn’t alter the...
Hey all, first time posting here after just joining. I have a 2020 Expedition Limited trim, 2WD, non extended version. Separate issue to highlight is the shifting from park to reverse or drive can sometimes jerk pretty hard. I haven't noticed a pattern on warm up, if the engine/transmission are...
Been lurking for a while, first post here. Picked up a 2018 SWB Limited 4x4 w/ Max Tow last August with just under 67k miles. I was a little worried about the mileage, but it was Gold Certified with 1 year bumper to bumper, powertrain warranty is good until 2025/100k miles. A significant amount...
These pictures are the front differential and the shaft from the transfer case. It looks like the seal is going bad. last year when I purchased the Expedition I had a shop drain and fill the diffs fluid. can anyone tell me if it's the seal or something else?

I am in the Northeast. All...
Hi Everyone. I've got a lurking issue that I hope someone here can help identify...
2012 Limited. 4WD. 3.31 gears.
Grinding noise when rolling... like wheel bearing, but more steady and does not get loader when loaded in turn - BUT did get loud when I hit pot-hole on pass side.
Noise gets...
I have a 2007 Expedition EL w/ 360K miles. I am the second owner and am not aware of the rear differential fluid ever being replaced. Axle code 16 meaning it is an open differential not needing the 4oz friction modifier additive, according to FordTechMakuloco on YouTube, but should I add anyway...
So I’ll be having the fluid changed, not flushed from the transmission as well as the fluids in the front and rear diffs and transfer case. Did you all stick to ford fluids or is there something else out there that’s actually better?
My 2007 expy EL 4wd has just about 200k miles, still running great. I’m about to drain and refill the fluids in both front and rear differentials. Does anyone know what fluids or what fluid type are needed for each differential? If I’m not mistaken... I believe both differential uses different...
