Has anyone noticed a large material difference between the 400 horsepower EcoBoost in the OG Platinums and the newer 440 horsepower units or went from an 18-20 Platinum to a 22+ with the higher output motor? Just want to know if they feel pretty similar on the butt dyno.
So we had a 2022 XLT as our company car, and we test drove an 304a stealth and it was a huge difference. 60 HP makes a big difference.
Is the 2020 platinum the 3.5HO or is it just an uprated 3.5eb?
It is not a H.O.. All Expeditions bur Platinum, Stealth Performance, and Timberline produce 380 HP. Platinum produce 400 HP. Stealth, Timberline, and Navigator get H.O. 440 HP.
I believe the 2020 is not the HO motor like the new ones, just slightly tuned up
You are correct.
That's what I was thinking.
It's REALLY hard to find out the differences between the HO and the non-HO 3.5eb, nothing's published. Friend of mine with some good info told me at minimum pistons are different, turbos are slightly larger. I'm sure there are other things. Cast stainless exhaust manifolds comes up too.
The H.O. received different compression ratio, pistons, turbochargers, calibration, charge air cooler, exhaust manifolds, catalytic converters, and fuel pump.
