Can anyone tell me how to utiliz the phone feature that is built in to the NAV system console on a '03 EB. I can't seem to get a straight answer on this. Do I need to take it to the dealer? I there something I can do to make it work? i press it now and it says no phone installed or available...something like that.

Might be a hands free system with bluetooth. Look in the setup on the navigation and look for something regarding either bluetooth or the phone. If you have a phone with bluetooth, activate it in the truck and see if it can find anything in a search.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. I was thinking '03 was a little early for the whole Blue Tooth thing, but it can't hurt to try. I'll let you know how it turns out, thanks again!

No, Not Blue Tooth. Have any other suggestions? There is an actual button that has a picture of a phone on it, when pushed it says no phone present. Maybe used when a hands free phone is installed? I've never seen a Ford Phone. I'm stumped.

I don't have a Nav system, but I also have a phone button. It's actually a Mute/Phone button. I guess it would mute the music and take a phone call if I had a phone.

Have you gone to a dealer and asked?

Maybe some after market handfree phones have some way of linking up with the system.

Yeah, I think Ford didn't start with the whole handfree Bluetooth till like 06-07+. But that's the only thing I can really think of. My phone has Bluetooth and you have to do the whole pairing thing for it to be able to connect to anything.

Have you tried the owners manual?

I'm sure the dealer will know, but if not, I'm positive the owner's manual would explain it if you have it.

Just thought I'd bring this post back. I'm new to the forums and was wondering what the deal was with this. I have an 05 EB with the nav system and was curious about the same thing. I looked in the owners manual and after reading a little while found this description, which I thought was rather funny and odd at the same time...

12. Phone (if equipped): If the phone button is pressed, the display will read NO PHONE. This button is non-functional (the radio will not mute). Cellular connectivity is not currently available for this radio.

So how bogus is that. They have a button there, but it doesn't do anything?? That to me is just plain stupid. So now my question is did this feature get added on the later Expeditions and then worked?? I'd be curious if I could then transfer a later model nav system from like say an 07 or 08 into my 05 and have it directly plug in and work perfectly. Assuming now the current radio has the capability of 'cellular connectivity'

The phone button is a mute button and yes it does work when a bluetooth car kit is added or when the factory "mobileease" is added. I have it installed in my system, I install it with the factory wire harness you get from the dealer so you don't have to cut your wires.
