Where is the front crash sensor located on my 07? I figured if I could actually see the part, I might be able to locate it on the vehicle......but I'm also having trouble finding the matching part number for replacement. #update#......I think I found it. part number seems to be 6l2414b006ad, but not much useful is coming up searchwise.

That's the sensor
Would they have substituted another part number? The number on the bottom gets a few hits on Google, but zilch on any parts sites I look at.

I would go to a local ford dealer and check They would know the correct part number to replace the one you have

Why are you replacing the sensor?

How did you determine that it needs replaced?

I hadn't had it scanned yet, but was hoping I could get a rough idea of what the sensor might cost. If it wasn't a lot, I thought about seeing if swapping it out might get rid of my airbag alert. I'd been reading up and it seems like a good portion of those alerts were caused by that particular sensor. Admittedly, I'm probably jumping the gun a bit. [emoji16]

Had that problem on my 04 Main cause is the connector gets corrosion on the contact pins

Have the code read and then post it The code will tell you the sensor that is bad

Sensor should run about $50 to $80

I'm guessing that means the guy at Auto zone won't be able to pull the code I need?

Depends on the code reader they use But I would ask if their reader can scan Air Bag codes

AutoZone has been able to read codes from all control modules in my experience. Most of them I've been to have a nice Bosch scanner.

Okay, so as it turns out after getting the nice guy at O'Reilly's to pull the code for me, it's the steering wheel airbag causing the fault. We did have some work done a while back on the clock spring. I'm not taking it back to that shop though, because of some issues we have when they did the work. I guess I could focus on figuring out that steering column. Anybody have any information on removing those?

Just curious what was the code that came up

Also sending you a PM check your inbox
In my haste, I didn't get the actual code, but it did definitely correspond with the driver's airbag itself.

The clock spring is the most common failure. I have the ALLDATA procedure for the 2012, if you want to get the procedure for your exact vehicle, alldatadiy.com is only $20/yr
