I just changed the fuel filter on my 08 expedition, it's an external fuel filter with one inlet and 2 outlets. The 2 outlet connections where very easy, but the inlet connector has a metal bracket on it, it was just hanging loose on the old filter, I assumed it was suppose to secure the inlet rubber line to the fuel filter, but when I look further, it almost seems like it would actually release the quick connector on the fuel line rather than keep the line secured to the filter. I have connected it for the moment but wanted to ask on here, has anyone changed their external fuel filter and what did you do with the metal bracket/clip on the inlet fuel line? Any pictures of how it should be attached. As its got a quick disconnect fitting, I doubt the line will come off without the bracket, but as ford have gone to the expense of fitting this metal clip, I would like to use it correctly, the first 2 pictures are just to show the clip (blue arrow pointing at it) and the last picture is how I have connected it.
