Hello All,

I am a new (well new to me) Expedition owner and the Cooling Fan (Radiator Fan) is running all time. does anyone know what would cause this? advise for fixing it?

I also have a Rattle when the car comes to a stop and the Brake pedal is depressed. I can't find the rattle. Has anyone had this similar problem?

When the engine is off, can you turn the fan freely?
If not then the thermostatically controlled fan clutch should be replaced.
It will always spin when the engine is running, but it only "locks up" when the radiator is hot.

You'll know when it's locked up. It sounds like your car is taking off. :D

If I spin the Fan manually is is tight. and the fan seems to be permanently seized because it does sound like it is taking off. the operating temp is low so I am sure the Radiator is not Hot.
when you say replace the thermostatic fan I am assuming you are refering to the Fan clutch on the backside of the Fan between the Fan blades and the readiator, Right???

Is it as simple as removing the four bolts on the Clutch or do I need to remove the woe fan?
