has anybody done a lift kit on a 2wd 1st gen that was more for ride quality/performance than just height? im guessing all the f150 kits would fit the front, my rear air suspension will be another headache. also it looks like in order to run coilovers i would have to do new upper arms and shock hoops? i really want a an awesome driving suspension....if anybody in here has ever ridden in a truck with a long travel suspension you know what im talking about. i know i wont get anything near the ride quality of a true long travel with coilovers, but i want to get as close as possible. my goal is 35's with an amazing ride capable of hitting pot holes and speed bumps like its no big deal.

ive been searching all over, will continue my search...but cant find much on 2wd 1st gens. personally i never thought i would lift a 2wd vehicle, but my dad gave it to me and its been in the family forever so i feel like i should keep it, and make it more fun to drive :) thanks!

thats gonna have to be something custom... never seen it done... but your on the right track with F150 on the front then just have to get matching lift springs/spacer for the rear... but wont be the ride that your looking for as in a long travel

4wd Expedition rear springs with spacers? Was what I came up with combing through search posts.

for the front i found fabtech and camburg both make a "mid travel" kit for the front, camburg is 2 grand and fabtech is 900. fabtech comes with upper and lower arms, camburg comes with upper. but from everything ive read camburg is awesome and this particular fabtech kit is horrible. i would love to get a long travel but i just dont have the funds. i know a mid travel wont ride like a long travel, but if you valve the shocks right and use air bumps and straps wisely it will ride pretty amazing on the street and dirt roads, i will just have 10" of travel instead of 18+ like the long travel kits. I think for the rear ill just add a spacer and adjust the bag sensor, then get a nice shock and use air bumps.
