Hello!
I have had my 2003 Expy 5.4 EB for about a year and have driven it from 73k to 102k in that time.
I have to admit that I have only recently begun to study my Chilton and have replaced the brakes ( rotors and all) and driver's side window control pad, but I am relatively inexperienced in general auto repair.
Only last week did I have the first opportunity to use 4wd in any form, but while driving across our state's busiest pass and finding that rear wheel drive does poorly in snow ( go figure ;-) ) I switched to auto4 and then 4hi with no indicator lights, solenoid sounds or engagement in any of them. Embarassingly, this could have been like this when I bought the vehicle. I did not check ( I know, I know...).
Passenger fuses all tested to be good. Any other fuses throughout the vehicle to test? Don't know how to check relays, but bought one and tested it in all six spots. No difference. There is an occasional leak somewhere from the roof- it appears that this could be a clogged sunroof drain. Possible bad fuse box because of this?
Originally a New Hamshire vehicle with light corrosion throughout the Engine compartment and chassis.
Any input-ideas would be helpful and greatly appreciated. I have enjoyed browsing this forum for a few months now and it has been incredibly helpful. Despite the fact that it has a bunch of other quirks like dull headlights, inoperable driver memory seat settings, finicky back passenger vent window, 11 MPG city, 14 MPG HWY, no auto headlights, I illogically love this vehicle and intend to keep it for a very long time.
Torque wrench on order, at which point plugs and coils will be replaced. I do not believe it has been done yet, though a suggestion on easy ways to tell might help before I end up with an unnecessary set of spares.
