2003 Exp. problems?

Hi,
I´m Peter from Stockholm Sweden.
(The Expedition is not sold by Ford here. It is only sold by a few importers.)
Ok, so i´m looking at a used 2003 Eddie Bauer w approx. 40000 miles. It looks to be in great condition.
Is there anything special i should look for on it?
Things that normally could be a problem on a Exp. w some miles on?

I´m thinking of removing the runningboards. I don´t like the look w them on.
I´m trying to find pictures on the internet of Expedition 2003 - 2005 without the runningboards. Imposible to find!
Can you direct me, where to search?

(Perhaps this have been disscused before)
I like the Exp. to be as tall as possible without lifting it. What is the biggest tires i can put on the standard wheels?
Will larger tires make the truck a lot taller?

Tires

If you have stock wheels which are 17x7.5, then the largest wheel you can put are 285/70/17 tires on your stock wheels.

That'll give you a small 2 inch lift (if I remember correctly).

As for finding a Expeditions without runnings boards, you'll have a hard time. You'll either find running boards or bars. Here is a pic that I was able to locate to give you an idea of what it would look like without running boards though

As for problems, check the coil plugs and see if coolant is leaking on them. The way the engine was designed, there is a hose that tends to leak coolant onto the coil plugs and foul them up and then you'll need to replace them.

We all know you want to remove your running boards and lift the truck so no fat girls can get in.
