Are you sure its the motor? 2nd gens have an issue where the metal for the wiper stud and the housing corrodes and gets dirty keeping the wiper arm from moving.
I had the same issue with my 05. Took it apart, cleaned and greased it and its worked fine ever since!
An easy way to check is to open the glass and try to move the wiper arm if its hard to move or wont move at all thats your problem.
i tried removing the wiper arm and assembly, the wiper arm came off but the assembly on the glass would not, i tried removing the large nut but the glass was creaking and i was afraid it was going to shatter, any ideas?
Well as long as you are loosening it, the glass should not break since you are removing tension. Operative word is "should not." I make no guarantees... An impact wrench would probably take the nut off easier since it has the hammering effect (rotationally speaking) instead of just the straight torquing that hand tools give. Hit the ratchet with your palm to get the same effect. Just don't bruise your hand haha, that sucks.
ok ill call the junk yard first and make sure they have the glass to hold it for me lol it looks to be an aluminum nut and housing so i am sure they are corroded, a little heat to maybe?
ok i know its an old thread but i wanted to update. my wiper "transmission" was seized so i replaced the entire glass. i turned on the rear wiper and it still didnt work, opened the glass wiper moved freely. so i replace the rear wiper motor, works like a charm, thanks for the help everyone
