2004 XLT. After being dead for several weeks the locks are not working. Only manually

Truck sat for.several months, it was dead, bought a new battery and the locks won't work and I can't open the back hatch glass. I don't have a key for so I ordered one but I can't even the the car into program mode.

You can't open the back hatch glass with the exterior button? (The button is between the two license plate tag lights ).
