I have a 2005 Non HD tow Expedition that I use to tow a boat trailer with surge brakes. In order to energize the reverse lockout solenoid on the trailer I have tapped into the reverse lights and fused the connection with a 3A fuse (the solenoid draws less than 1A). In reading the recent post on the 2007 Expedition it is clear that the wiring of the 07 and up Expeditions is quite different from my 05. Does anybody know the location of the trailer backup light relay on the 05? (On the 05 the trailer backup relay is under the hood while most of the common fuses and breakers are in the passenger kick panel). I'm trying to evaluate if it's worthwhile to have the relay in the factory location. This year I plan to add a relay for the trailer backup light circuit but if it's too much trouble I think I might add it where I tapped into the backup lights and just bring in a 12v source there.
