2006 King Ranch

Hello!

Just got a 2006 King Ranch. I have been driving a 2006 EB for the last 5 years, so I am familiar with the vehicles.

So, after I got the KR home, a couple of odd details stood out. Wanted to check and see if any other owners know if these were valid options or not.

1. No heated seats. Was the only option for heated seats in 2006 the Heated/cooled perferated versions like I have in the EB? Or did they have a "heat only" seat for the KR? The owners manual only shows the Heat/Cool versions.

2. Is the dash bezel black like the EB or is is "wood grain"? This KR is black just like the EB. Wondering if it was an odd model or if they were all black in 2006.

3. Only drivers seat is 6-way power. The passenger is manual. No big deal but on the EB both are power.

4. The KR does not have running boards or step bars. How did they come? If step bars, were they chrome or painted the same as the cladding?

The KR is a nice truck. The only options I can see that it does not have are a power passenger seat, heated seats and step bars. Other than that it has 2nd row Captains chairs, RSE, Sirius (cant get it working), moon roof, power rear vent windows, backup sensors and HD tow package.

Anyone have a 2006 brochure or option guide?

1...no clue...
2...i have EB...looks more brown than black
3...i have EB...only the driver is power...pass is manual
4...i've seen them with both...i think they originally come with regular running boards for 2nd gens...then dealerships put the chrome step boards to attrack ppl in...

1. Heated seats weren't available as the heavy duty leather can't work with the ac/heated seat system Ford had... it did require the leather to be perferated and the King Ranch leather is too thick.

3. Same with my 2006... thought the pass power seat was added into the 3rd gen.

I was thinking the same thing on the heated seats, that the KR Castano leather would not work with the heated seats.

Weird about the manual/power passenger seat. Not that I really care, but the 2006 EB I drive has power passenger and the 2006 KR has manual passenger. Whatever, no big deal.

I think I may have to get a set of step bars for the truck. Not big deal for me to get in the drivers seat, but a real pain the but to get out of the 3rd row without them...

I have an 06 Limited and it does have a power passenger seat..... Went with the limited as I could not find a Eddie Bauer with Climate controlled seats or 2nd row captains chairs when we were looking.

My wife has an 06 KR Exp and it has a power passenger seat and step bars. Not sure about the heated seats.

Mine is 2006 eb I do have the haeated cooled seats and both seats are power and side steps to now on another hand I don't have back up sensor or traction control so I really agree with you that some of them have more option than others regardless the model

My 06 KR also only has the power drivers seat...

As for the heated & cooled seats, I don't have them either... most KR's I looked at didn't have it... I did find one one which did - on the net (If the interior picture matched the car).

I am not sure if it is due to the thicker leader, but I also know that the KR F150's do have heated seats...

As for the steps, they are part of the KR package though - colour matched to the lower trim.

I wanted to update this thread, as I have done a complete KR swap on my 04 EB since this thread was posted. The KR did get heated/cooled seats a bit later, but I do believe they also had the heated option in the 05-06, though not cooled. Can't find any pics online, as there are so few out there.

I received my king ranch interior being told by the seller that it was dual power, and heated. Neither was the case, except for the drivers seat. I added Rostra heated seats to both sides of mine, and couldn't be happier.

OP, do you still have your KR truck? Any pics? I am so glad that I converted mine; my EB interior was shot, so I had to replace it, may as well upgrade!

What year, and where are the switches for them?? In at least 06 (possibly 05 as well) the Expedition had the heated/cooled switches moved to the EATC unit.

Theirs is a F150. I'll take a look this week sometime, as I can't recall the location of the switches at this point.

Location is a moot point if it's an F150--I thought you were saying they had a KR Expy.

My does not have them either, however according to the book if it did have it the location would be on the climate control unit bottom left button. Hope I helped some.
