I recently towed my 28 foot travel trailer 280 miles, made it no problem, the day I went to leave it started no problem then quit while waiting inline at the Rv dump station, I could not hear the pump run/prime so I checked the fuse and switched the relay around, could not get it going, it had 12volts at the inertia switch at the back of the truck, even beat the gas tank to try and get the pump going, After 4 hours of playing with it I had it flat bedded 200 miles with AAA where it fired right up on the trailer. Do you guys think it's my pump going bad or a wiring issue, had a heavy rain the night before this.
Thanks

Okay it quit again, would you go with a Delphi pump or a original motorcraft pump, both are around 240 dollars on rock auto, the only reason I'd go with Delphi is because they say the connectors are improved. Truck has 203k miles

Well check first if the pump is really bad. See if you can apply 12 volts directly to the pump itself. If it spins, then most likely you have a wiring issue.

Does anyone know if the 2007 had a fuel pump driver module? I can't find it and the dealer insist there is one

The fuel pump driver module was only on the 05/06 expeditions and was located on the drivers side frame rail above or near the spare tire

Have attached the wiring diagram for the 07 fuel pump

it would be an easier fix but maybe more expensive With the mileage on that expy your better off replacing it now before winter hits your area

Before you spend any more time or money check the fuel pump relay and the pin connections under it, both famous for sneaky problems.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but I'm having eerily similar issues . . . .

Bedrck47 - I'm going to jump back on here. I recently had the SAME issue, see this thread: http://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/solved-another-fuel-pump-disaster.30163/#post-242877
After going through the relays, fuses, inertia switch, etc, we dropped the tank and found the pump to be OK. We replaced the battery and it started & ran fine - for 3 days. Then the exact same issue. Truck died on the road, but started back up & ran fine for another day. Then it died again & would not start. Fuel pump not running. Towed it home with the intention of replacing the pump. After sitting for 3 days, put the key in & it started right up & ran for 15 minutes before showing the same symptoms.

I plan to put power directly to the pump. If it works I am thinking it might be associated with the PCM or security system (ignition switch)?

Is there any info on how to get to the wiring under the relay? I couldn't figure out how to get that big power box apart to check for loose wires.

Thanks to all on this forum for sharing their knowledge, expertise and ideas!
