I have a small leak at the passenger front. Not sure where its coming from. It looks like engine oil but I haven't confirmed yet. Any common leaks from this area? Drips a couple drops a day on the ground

Slide under the truck with a strong flashlight The part that's leaking would appear dirtier that the rest of the engine. Take your time you'll soon find it.

Yeah thanks. The question is if there are any common leaks in that area. I'll be under there today to crawl around

My AC compressor, leaked oil, before it went. It sprayed the left side of engine and started making noise with AC or DEF on. Transmission lines are on that side, along with power steering(red fluid).

Also check your PCV valve is functional. My vehicle was "seeping" oil and it so discreet without any blatant leaks noticeable, and after much research found others had discovered a clogged PCV was a contributor. Changing it resolved my problem.

Thanks for all the replies. It's definitely engine oil. The oil pan gasket is wet almost all the way around. It does not appear to be the oil filter housing. It looks like it's either coming from the chain cover or the crank sensor. I need to find my mirror or something to get a better look

Only a hack, would drive a vehicle, leaking coolant. Bad advice to post, on a forum.

well, I was under the impression that the oil pans were unlikely to leak on these, but thats what it looks like mine is. as far as oil pans go on newer vehicles, this doesnt look like it will be too awful

The cross member has to be removed. It's a much bigger and time consuming job than you think bro. If you don't have a lift or sitting high on stands you're gonna have a nightmare replacing it

Haha. Thanks for the heads up. I've got to drop the front diff too. Looks like I've got to maneuver around the rack also. Compared to other vehicles I've done, this looks pretty easy.

I do need to grab a factory service manual from somewhere.

You can try tightening the bolts on the pan, first. 14-16ftlbs. I had some old Dodges and Chevys, with oil pan, seepage(never a Ford). I found the bolts, were not that tight. The oil pan, only catches oil, it is not under pressure. A bad PCV, lets gases build up and could cause a leak, or make it worse. Does your oil, smell like fuel? Excess piston blow-by, could cause the crankcase to overpressure. It will leak at the rear and front main seals. Replace the PCV and try leaving the dipstick out a hair. It will work like a vent. A blocked exhaust and over filling, with oil, will also cause a overpressure.
