200K miles today!!!!

2006 Expedition will cross the 200K mile marker today and i couldnt be happier.

XLT with no options except for trailer hitch and back up sensors. I love this truck and have thought plenty about getting something newer with less miles but theres nothing out there that makes me want open my wallet.

Its due for an oil change ( I change mine every 3K) and theres some seepage from the front axle that needs attention but, knock on wood, its a good, solid truck.

Any suggestions on prevantative maintenance I should look into? I hear talk about cam phasers, etc but not sure how serious I should look into it vs just leave them be.

I keep remembering this article and am proud to be in the club!

I have an 06 Limited with 186,000 and an 06 King Ranch with 165,000 and they run like champs. Keeping up with routine maintenance is the key as the article says. I run full synthetic oil in both trucks and change every 5000 miles. The King Ranch gets driven a lot less than the Limited. The Limited is my daily driver for work so it will likely be part of the 200,000 mile club in a year or so. The surprising thing about the Limited at 186,000 miles is that it does not have the tick like most all other Expeditions develop. The King Ranch does have the tick but it runs fine. I have seen several opinions on here as to what causes the tick but I'm not personally worried about it unless it starts causing problems with driveability.

Sounds like yours is almost broken in good! Ours (mainly the wife's) '03 has 368k on it and we do not hesitate to hop in and head out, anywhere. Just regular old minor component failures so far!

221,000 on mine, still going great too. 2006 5.4 Eddie Bauer 4x4. replaced shock and struts at end of 2017. still running the original exhaust too. good vehicle.

Welcome to 200K+ miles.

IMHO, keep up on your yearlies (oil, filters, wipers, pcv).

recurrent problems address as they happen.

have you serviced the trans & filter? Shocks? rotors & pads? end links? sway bar bushings? EGR Valve? O2 sensors?

2005,2006, definitely had the most problems as these were the first 2 years of the new motor, at least for Expedition. Maintenance is the key, as you've seen so far. Keep up those oil/filter changes, the sooner the better, can't have too clean oil. Tranny service every 30 k, no matter what others say, that and just drive it easy, don't try pulling heavy trailers and such, you wouldn't expect a 65 year old man to pull the weight of an 18 year old. Cam phasers is something that should only be done if something goes awry.
