Still leaks.
I am going to permently seal sun roof . I can't find much on it. That is reason for this post, it maybe help someone else. Or you can correct me!
3M windo-weld 08609 window sealer. All the controls are broke so no movement from sunroof. $2,300 to have it replaced. No, not going happen. So seal up is the way to go. Switches are disconnected. The sun window is in place and screwed to channel. The channel is still loose. I had to driil a 1/16 hole theough the bottom part where the vizer slides at top that channel. I attached wire to the window screws so i could draw the sunroof tight to channel. Everything now is snug. Now, I am going to seal the window to the top of the roof with this stuff. Masking tape around the edges . I will try to take pictures tomorrow.
If someone has a better idea, please let me know

I used wax cleaner and dust remover around where I was woking. I can't remember the name of it. Stuff you use prior to painting.
The back section of the glass i had to wire down to secure in place. The front was okay. i masked around the window with blue paint tape. ( I should have taken A picture of tape). The sealer end had the perfect opening to insert between window and metel. One pass around with that, i cut that section off. The second pass around brought to the top. Putty knife to smooth out and level with metel. My putty knife should have been plastic, but use what you have. I dont think it will ever leak again. Then take off tape... All done!

Did you consider other sealants?

I'm concerned because window-weld is designed to be an internal adhesive, that external exposure is going to cause it to deteriorate and peel off.

I'm wondering if simple silicone caulk would work. Run a bead around the gasket and another around the frame, spread it with your finger and then gently insert the glass before screwing it back to the mounts.

Or I'll just continue to replace the tape that I have sealing it shut right now...

This will not peel. The bottom is not glued to frame. Just the sides, smoothed on the edge. it can be cut out if the window needed to be replaced. i ran it through the car wash, no leaks. I do not have worry about water inside any more. I am happy with the fix.

Just a follow-up. Still holding as good as when I first sealed it. Also many car washes, and no peel or movement with seal. No leaky leaky....
