Hi everyone. Everytime I spray windshield washer fluid I get a crazy big whiff of it inside my cabin. This issue seemed to start last winter, as I don't recall it happening in the couple years prior.

Anyone else have this issue? split in the fluid line near the cabin air intake? I'm just trying to pinpoint it and not exactly sure how to "fix" it. I'm assuming everything is under the plastic cowling at the base of the windshield, which I'm sure I'd destroy every plastic fastener there is taking it apart.

Anyways, just wondering if this is a common issue, and if there is an easy fix or at least one I can get a dealer/repair place to perform and negotiate a decent price.

Thanks,
Steve

I had a similar issue with my Mercury Mountaineer and didn't figure out what it was until the windshield washer stopped spraying. It turned out to be the windshield washer pump. What was happening is that it was just barely spritzing out instead of spraying; the result was that most of the fluid was getting into the ventilation rather than onto the windshield. If that's your problem, it's a cheap fix.

i really suspect a small leak from the fluid line that runs under the plastic cowling.... I may just pay someone who knows how to handle all that plastic rather than me fuddling it all up.
