2015 driver side door noise

2015 with loud clicking noise as the door is opened or closed. It’s coming from the black hinge in the middle. See pic.
Any ideas?

The black piece is a door-check strap.

Mine has been replaced twice: Once under the new car warranty (shaft broke) and once under the Ford extended warranty (broken inside door).

The driver side strap requires the parking brake assembly to be removed, to replace the strap. It is a cheap, poorly designed plastic piece that is used constantly - and breaks easily.

The first time, the plastic strap broke in two, and prevented me from fully closing the door. I was close to home, and drove home while holding the door partially shut.

You may want to replace the part before it breaks and causes you more trouble.
