Hello Expedition Friends,
I've been doing a lot of research on the forum here so I thank you all for your support. I recently purchased a 2015 Expedition XLT, that does not have the HD tow package, to tow my Miata track car using a U-Haul "Auto Transport" trailer. A note about the trailer; it uses hydraulic surge brakes so it cannot use a load distributing hitch, and I don't know what the tongue weight is, but the total weight should be around 4,800 lbs. With my old tow vehicle, a 2006 Toyota Sequoia, I added Air Lift 1000 bags inside the coil springs to pump up the rear end, but that's not applicable to the Expy because of the coil-over-shock setup in the rear.
To mitigate the rear sag, I wanted to add nivomat load leveling rear shocks, so I purchased some used shock assemblies from eBay that came from a 2015 Lincoln Navigator, but they appear to be the Load Leveling Suspension (LLS) with Continuous Control Damping (CCD). (I didn't realize you could have both.) (See pictures.)
My question is, what do I need to do to get these to work? Can I just install them and leave the CCD electrical connector hanging? Add some kind of CCD controller? Should I replace the CCD damper with a standard LLS damper? (My preferred solution. I think the right PN el1z18125a ?) Trash the whole thing and go with _____ other solution to fix the rear sagging?

PS. The Expy tows like a beast compared to the Sequoia's 4.7 V8 and gets better gas mileage. I'm very pleased with it. (Aside from the random electrical issues.)
